OT: Friday Night Football Open Thread

Old Main sort of looks like a high school.  I'm not really sure I'd want that to be the symbol of my school.

Devine is so shifty. WVU looks bad though.

Friends came over for dinner.  They are from Indiana, and brought their chocolate lab, named Rudy.  My dog, Sierra, a Michigan rescued malamute (wearing her gameday M collar) just shoulder blocked Rudy and dry humped him until he whined into a submission posture.

Animals can supposedly predict earthquakes and storms.  Go Blue!

it is going to be a test for papa bill once he no longer had RR's players.  I, like everyone else in america, questioned the bill stewart hire.  WVU did it without thinking, as a reaction to RR leaving.  They will regret it very soon.  i think this is the year that program starts to revert

I'm really enjoying the blond girl behind Stewart on the WVU sidelines.  Her pure joy versus his anger is great.

I'd find this hard to believe, but then I remember who WVU hired as coach.

WVU is not playing very well.  Marshall is hitting WVU in the mouth.  They clearly won the battle of the trenches.  If Marshall can score a TD, it'd be hard for WVU to come back from it.

I'm beginning to suspect that Marshall was probably a substantially better opponent than FAMU. Also, that Bill Stewart will be fired halfway through this season.

Ruh roh, things just took a turn for the interesting.

wv missed the boat as well.  That job was never hotter than when RR had just left.  They had a great roster and were on the national scene.  They squandered their chance to get a upper tier coach

WVU just self destructing now, holding and a false start.

I don't think that play went as called. 2 fumbles seems like 1 too many, even giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Is their coach seriously named Doc Holiday??

Do you all remember when that West Virginia big wig alum from Arizona predicted doom when they hired Stewart around the time of the 07 Fiesta Bowl? He predicted this would eventually happen.  He went public saying he more or less begged the school not to promote Coach Stewart.

seriously, for how much these commenatators are counting this as a marshall W with 12 minues left. its bound to happen

This Week in Schadenfreude is off to an excellent start. WV message boards handle negativity well.

I like that they just referred to the green and white team as "Little Brother."  

I hate when teams start playing soft D at the end of a game.  WV just marched the field after getting owned all night.

This has a very familiar feel to it....

What a great run by Devine.  That was the definition of patient.  He just trotted down the line waiting for a spot to open up.
