Step up from his old job IMO. Always knew he was Southeastern Conference material.

attack of the "if you dont have anything nice to say" clan. This blog is only for people who support everything bit of information that is posted. Don't look at any of the other posts making fun of his "hyperbole" and calling Ypsilanti's team "a bunch of Jabrill Peppers, but stronger". Wouldn't want to neg them for making of Jackson. SMH.

Wasn't going to neg. Now negging due to complaining about 3 negs.
First rule of MGoPoints is don't talk about MGoPoints.
I'm now going to neg myself.

This is the internet! It can be somewhat aggressive! This is known! Take your beating like a man!

It is the internet man, not life or death.

sarcastic reply to sarcastic GIF.....is sarcastic...
You do seem to be pretty steamed-up about your negs though.

I was attending a Saline scrimmage game while in town in August, as my godson is playing for them. Fred's son is the QB, and I ended up sitting next to him the whole scrimmage. Interestingly, Ron English was there watching and hanging with Fred.
Dude is a really nice man, and he was really interested in the fellow kids on the team, both from a football and school standpoint. P.S.: R.E. was a really nice guy as well. Ypsi is lucky to have him.

Its another to step on a man who gave a lot to the university, lasted through several coaching regimes and was a steady member of each of those coaching staffs. Your gif above seems to be you making a disparaging remark towards someone who really doesn't deserve that type of treatment. He may not be in a place that compares to what he did before, but he's giving back to a sport he loves and hopefully develops some talent that will make its way to Michigan's doorstep.
Now, if you'd make the same joke/disparaging remark about where Luke Fickell may end up next year, then that's another matter entirely.
November 4th, 2015 at 2:51 PM ^
was to mock the thread, more than the person. I don't have an opinion of Fred Jackson as a man, I don't know him, I just didn't really find his new job hire all that interesting. I should have known better than to go against the majority opinion. I think he's a good coach, was probably here a bit too long, IMO, but a good coach. Luke Fickell can suck a fat one!
November 5th, 2015 at 8:17 AM ^
Well, it did not come out that way.
So I'm guessing that your avatar name is meant to be ironic?
November 5th, 2015 at 8:21 AM ^
So...a guy who coached for Michigan for about 25 years gets a job at a local high school, and you don't think it's newsworthy enough to post? If that's where you draw the line, you should post gifs like that on about 10 different threads per day.

I dont want to comment any further, I might cause a riot...

will be better than Bo, with more wins than Bowden and faster than Bolt

Good luck to him.
November 4th, 2015 at 1:59 PM ^
Good for him. I hear the Ypsi roster is made up of a bunch of kids who are like Jabrill Peppers, but stronger.
November 4th, 2015 at 1:59 PM ^
I've heard that some high school coaches are better than others about talking up their players. I fully expect all of his players to go D1.
November 4th, 2015 at 3:10 PM ^
has NFL-like talent, only better
November 4th, 2015 at 2:00 PM ^
How do you like that coaching tree now?
November 4th, 2015 at 2:00 PM ^
After doing a triple lindy.
November 4th, 2015 at 2:02 PM ^
And so begins an era of quizzical looks when college coaches call Fred to ask them to describe his hs players prowess to them on the phone and when said college coach looks at said players on film.
"Hmm wait is this the same kid Jackson told me he was like Gronk... but faster!"

Rumor has it that he has Thomas Rawls penciled into start.

lame attempt at humor is lame
November 4th, 2015 at 3:42 PM ^
Cool. Thanks for trolling. Because your humor is always top notch, I really loved your work on the ghost peppers and jalapeno peppers comments recently. You have a rare comedic talent.
Now going meta...we're all on the same side on this blog...unless it's needing to call someone out re: outlandish stuff (e.g. bigotry) or accuracy issues, people need to let it go and remember we're on the same side. Go to Columbus or EL if you want mix it up against M fans.

Yeah, Ann Arbor is now Ypsi's bitch!
But seriously, best of luck to a True Blue Michigan Man and glad to see that he is staying close by and still in coaching.
November 4th, 2015 at 2:45 PM ^
Fred was quoted as saying that Ypsi was like Pioneer, but with better facilities.
November 4th, 2015 at 3:03 PM ^
Looking at the local teams now, the right comparison would be "like Saline, but with a better winning percentage."
November 4th, 2015 at 2:05 PM ^
Good for him and good for Ypsi. Best of luck to him.

Hey thanks! Now I just need to figure out a way to stop living in South Dakota!
November 5th, 2015 at 1:20 AM ^
there are things called roads and they lead everywhere else. There's always North Dakota !
November 5th, 2015 at 9:26 AM ^
Ha! I do have a car, but I also have a wife (who happens to live in South Dakota). Isn't there some saying that goes "happy wife,..."
Damn, forgot the rest of it.
November 4th, 2015 at 2:07 PM ^
i hope he goes full uzelac for those kids.
November 4th, 2015 at 2:08 PM ^
Is Ypsilanti a big school? Does this create a situation where Michigan could some good recruits?

from the same class as Stewart. They have been sending lots of kids to the GVSUs of the world for the last several years. After the merge with Willow Run, I expected an uptick. They have a QB going to Kansas this year.
November 4th, 2015 at 3:30 PM ^
Poor kid...
November 4th, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
No... but we did have Eric Ball back in the mid 80's - he of the 227 yards for UCLA and Rose Bowl MVP. But that was quite a long time ago.
November 4th, 2015 at 3:22 PM ^
Fun fact: he lived a couple of houses down and delivered my parents newspaper back before I was born.
One of Eric's teammates on the Cincinatti Bengals was 3-time all pro TE Rodney Holman... another YHS alum.
While they did not attend YHS, the Jenkins brothers (Kris and Cullen) spent a few years in Ypsi public schools.
