My first time with Insider...does anybody know how long it takes them to update the subscription lists? My address isn't getting me into it yet, they don't have my subscription on file.

(I'm not sure why I expected it to be instantaneous, now that I think about it. That was silly).

Anyway, thanks a bunch for the heads up.

Took me a couple months to start getting the magazine which has your account number printed on it.  But you can wait a week or two and then call ESPN to get the account number you need to activate insider.

Thanks. Also signed up for 2 years.

I was looking to do this sometime soon. I'm surprised how great a deal it is actually. The thing I actually care about is Insider but I get that and 52 issues of the magazine for 10 bucks? Good deal

Thank you, I just called in and cancelled my current subscription and signed up for two years. Got $24 back and added another year to my subscription.

My subscription is ending at the end of this month. They tried to sign me back up for $45. I called they said that they could offer me 1 year for $24.99. I almost bit on the offer but I saw this post.

Which is a real great aspect of ESPN Insider.  "The Den" forum is a great place where Tom VH, along with Rothstein and the lovely Chantelle Jennings, are at most of the day interacting with posters and answering quetions.  They are real down-to-earth people and will answer back to you quickly.  Basically the opposite of The Beaver on Scout.

If you're into fantasy sports, there's a ton of great insider articles on that, which of course includes the popular Eric Karabell and Keith Law.

Someone mentioned it above, but it takes a couple months for ESPN the Mag to come your way but it does eventually come.

Odd, I've never had a problem gettting answers from Beaver... he doesn't answer everything (if its been recently answered or he doesn't know), but he has been responsive to message board questions I've asked as well as PM's.

FYI, the free insider is technically only for 1 year. If you signed up for 2 years, they'll automatically charge you the $30 or whatever it is for the 2nd year. You'll be able to get that fee waived with a talk with customer service though.

I subscribed to the magazine a few weeks ago (after my 2-year insider subscription expired), and when I called today I still wasn't in the system. The guy went ahead and gave me 30 days free while I wait.

There was also no wait time to talk to somebody. ESPN's customer service seems to be better than their programming.

Picked up a couple years - great deal.  I really don't enjoy the magazine which will probably go straight to the recycling bin but worth the online info.
