He honked off their administration, the state government, and a good share of their alums and boosters (especially the more crooked booster contingent) all while winning a lot of football games.

Very sorry to hear this. I've been through it a couple of times with my family; it is not easy.

WTVN (610 AM in Columbus) is doing their annual weekend telethon in support of that this weekend - I heard WTVN previewing that just yesterday, I happened to be driving in Ohio and had them on the radio.

Bruce has done some admirable work in his post-coaching days, and wish the best for him going forward.  Will be a tough road to hoe unfortunately.

and a former D-1 player himself.  we have done so much to help with things like heart disease and even cancer (but still a long way to go), that we are starting to live long enough to have these types of ailments.

blessings to him and his family.  a slow way to fade and an emotional drain on loved ones.

Very sad story, I hope he fights through it with the fighting spirit he always seemed to have on the sidelines.

Get better coach! Or as Bob Ufer called him, Darth Vader Bruce!

It makes me proud of our fan base when I see people coming together to support a rival when he needs it most. Somethings are more important than Wins & Losses. We are rooting for you coach, much love and respect. Go Blue!!!!

I attended his last game as a coach at the Big House in 1987. I was drunk and maybe a little obnoxious to the OSU fans (when M was up in the first half).

Then the inspired Bucknuts came back and won the game 23-20.

Earle Bruce was a class act that day.

Me? Not really. But I've learned a few things about life since that day.

I wish nothing but the best to Earle and his family.
