OT- Dylan Larkin lone Red Wing in NHL All-Star Game
Not sure if completely OT, but added that just to be safe. Congratulations to the former Wolverine who is tearing it up as a rookie in the NHL this season!
Also, it appears he is the first Red Wings rookie to make the all-star team since one Steve Yzerman. Here's hoping he wears the winged wheel his entire career!

Hometown hero! Congrats to him on an amazing rookie season. Keep it up young man!

Nashville still thinks they had a rivalry with the Red Wings. They kind of just picked a team during their expansion year. They are to Detroit as Illinois is to Michigan.

Don't you downplay THE Illinois-Michigan rivalry!!!

He will rock on that new three V3 format!

I haven't been following, but we really have nobody else worthy of an all-star pick?? Are Z/Pavel injured or something?

Dats was injured for several weeks to start the season. Zetterberg leads the team in points, but the rookie leading the team in goals is a sexier pick. Either one would have been a deserving choice, IMO.

Por que no los dos? I feel like Zetterberg is always in the all-star game. Seems weird.

Zetterburg might have been asked and declined to participate. Sometimes players do so if they feel they need more rest or don't care for this 3 on 3 all star idea.

I think with the format of having divisionsal teams, they aren't going to take multiple guys from the same team unless they are both no doubters, as each team only 11 players.
That being said, there are multiple teams with more than one player, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Plus Larkin being 19 is better suited for the 3v3 format the NHL is using this year than Z. Not sure why John Scott from the Yotes is going because from discussions I've had with friends he is more of an enforcer style player and that does not work in 3v3...

I have no idea why Scott is going other than it's the fans trolling Betman. I think he only has 1 point this year and is definately a goon. I think the voters must have double tipped the shine. On top of that I think he is going as a captain. disgraceful IMO.

Zetterberg has only been invited to two and only played in one All-Star game. 2007 (DNP) and 2008 (2nd Team)

That goal he just had was so dirty. This kid is fun to watch play.

I was so pumped when the Wings drafted him. I figured he'd take some time to develop like all their prospects and spend a couple years in Grand Rapids. It's truly amazing to see how easily he's made the jump to the highest level. What he's done this season has been beyond impressive. I don't think I'm alone here when I say that there have been games this year where he's looked like the best player on the ice.
