OT: Draymond Green Update - Punched MSU Football Player, Taunted him about Scholarships

Submitted by IvyLeague on

According to the police report, at least two officers witnessed Green slapping Edmondson across the face outside of Conrad's bar.

Cops say they spoke with Edmondson who says the slap was the culmination of a 2-day feud that began at another bar the night before.

Edmondson told police he was hanging out w/ his girlfriend when Green bumped into him. Edmondson says he told Green, "Hey bro, you can at least say 'Excuse me.'"

Green responded, "Do you know who I am?" I pay for n****** like you scholarships

Edmondson says 2 dudes with Green then began to choke him out right in the bar. He later noticed that Green's associates choked his girlfriend as well.

The next day Edmondson goes out to celebrate his birthday and runs into Green again and Green punches him.

there seem to be some haters out there who don't like Paul Simon and/or Art Garfunkel.

Therefore, here's a cover of "America" by Yes, including one great bit of guitar work by Yes guitarist Steve Howe (one of my all time favorite guitarists).    I like the original Simon and Garfunkel recording, but have long thought Yes did the song far better.

I hadn't listened to this in years (until tonight) , even though I still have the album "Yesterdays" in my collection.

...Also my favorite Roger Dean album cover of all the ones he did for Yes.

Trust me, I've known some, he isn't one.

Green has a temper like some people from all backgrounds have tempers, and it gets him in trouble. That doesn't make it excusable. It also doesn't make him a thug. On top of that, he along with Woodley have given a lot back to Saginaw. He's got annoying attributes; don't confuse that with thug.

All that said, this whole thing is peak Sparty stereotype

People who roll around with a crew willingly ready to choke out women are scary. They don't roll just to hang out with Green, sounds like they are some thugs. Thug behavior sure, there are certainly more thuggish ruggish than Green.

His story sounds ridiculous and made up to cover his ass. "Officer I swear. I was just minding my own business and then Draymond Green and his posse choked me and my girlfriend when were on our way to Sunday School. I was shocked sir"

I guarantee both of them had too many chips on their shoulders, both acted dumb, both feel stupid, and neither is telling 100% of the truth as a result. I wouldn't admit to slapping a guy either.

than the one yesterday. He was ready to attack Draymond because Green didn't recognize him? Either Edmondson is insane or that story is. Maybe Edmondson's story is BS too. Let's not forget, the EL police arrested Green and not Edmondson. I'd guess that's in spite of their being more likely to give Green the benefit of the doubt.

But hands on a woman is a no-no.  I don't read where he actually laid hands on her, but someone in his entourage did.  He should have learned after Friday night to not go out on Saturday night and definitely not with the same people.  And his actions on Saturday night indicate that he's only apologetic because he got arrested.

I'll never confuse him for a thug, but he's officially one guy I'm not interested in cheering for in the Olympics.  Dude is like the Claude Lemieux of basketball and that's not a good thing.

I can't wait to turn on new mini-flagship station 97.1 to hear them rip into Draymond.  Oh wait...

I have no idea what you mean by "Saginaw Thug," but he's a piece of garbage.  His low blows in the Semis and Finals cost GS the chance to be "The Greatest Team of All Time."  Then he has his sycophants choke some dude out in a bar and maybe a woman?

When so many pepole who played for Tom Izzo and had incidents "cleaned up" by campus police commit misdemeanor and felony assaults after they no longer have their "hall passes," it's not a " Sparty stereotype."

So far this year IIRC, it's Cleaves, Appling and Green?  Once is an incident.  Twice can be bad luck. Three times is a pattern.  Izzo is a world-class enabler who teaches players they can break the law and have it "cleaned up" for them as long as they produce on the court.

That is not a "stereotype;" it's an abomiination.

Exactly.. Draymond Green is not a thug. Believe me, I'm not proud of it, but I know real thugs. Draymond is not one. If anything, he is annoying as hell and has a short temper, but that's his niche in the league. He's like this generation Dennis Rodman. Real thugs rarely make the news.
