There are 4 offensive assistants that have left Alabama so far.  When Enos was asked about whether he would be stepping up to OC prior to the Orange Bowl, he replied that they hadn't discussed it.  Saban said the same thing.  Saban then said they were going to review the staff after the game was over.  FWIW, Saban had to replace 6 assistants last year.  This is pretty common for Alabama.

Saban goes through a lot of OCs. No job security there and not a single one promoted from his staff.

A couple of his recent hires were prominent former HCs who had stains on their resumes. There are a few more of those available at the moment. One's in Italy. In that regard, he can hire whoever he wants without worrying about what the school or the fans think.

My best guess is that Locksley got his dream job as a HC at Maryland and that Saban didn't think Gattis or Enos were ready/ good enough to be the OC. It's unconfirmed if Enos was offered the OC position.

Saban knew Gattis was gone when Locksley offered him the OC job. Saban didn't match, so everybody just assumed the new OC was Enos, but either he got more control or Saban wanted to go in another direction.

What's going on! That program is in big trouble. Saban has lost it and not who we thought he was. He has worn out his welcome with the staff. The silence from Bama right now is a problem. How can this be happening to them? Why can't they get rid of their kicking coach, he is the worst. They are never going to beat to Ohio State...

I tried to beat you to this news but this blog has terrible flaws in my tablet browser. It should be killed.

Anyway, yeah he Michiganed Sabin and took his 3 hour cruise as Bammy OC and SHOVED IT! Latched onto a laterally moving eastward bound Hurricane and landed in ol' (YT) Miami.

Man, I've never see anything special out of Applewhite. That's a falling up guy to me. Guy couldn't win at Houston fergodsakes.

Of course it seems the only reason Enos keeps getting jobs is because he's one of the last "pro style for college" guys left and there's still this dwindling group of mostly defensive head coaches that want that crap.

The funny thing about this is that Alabama loses one game - badly, mind you - and suddenly assistants are heading for other destinations. Oh, I am sure they'll reload on the staff too, but it's interesting to watch.

Enos isn't terrible. Have residual affection for him because he coached the Chips to some not horrible years. Even once not losing a bowl game, and coaching one of the wildest almost wins in the history of bowls ('14 Bahamas Bowl).

But the U has really downgraded.

Lots of staff turnover happening at Alabama.

And to think many of us were flipping out a few days ago that we lost an old-beyond-his prime coach in Mattison and an OSU lean in Washington.
