OT: Confess your unpopular opinions
A couple days ago a hashtag made the rounds on twitter that implored users to share opinions they have that aren't the most popular. We've had some quality confession threads in these parts before:
http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-creepy-stories-featuring-story-turned-short
(That one about songs you like but are embarrased about that I can't find)
so let's hear it. What do you believe despite knowing that it's not a popular opinion? Team related or otherwise (yes, many people will want to retain Borges. Be creative).
I'll go first: I really enjoy a good black bean burger and frequently order them rather than beef burgers.

Definitely not just you. I haven't seen it yet but I have two friends who do not know each other who have both complained about this exact same thing. Apparently it's an unfortunately common response.

Anything that even sounds like rap does not qualify as music. It's nothing more than bad poetry with overly loud and annoying bass sounds behind it. Every time I hear rap on the radio, TV, from car stereo's, at the Big House, or in another public location, my head feels like it's going to explode.

There is good rap out there, you just have to look past what's on the radio and MTV type garbage.

Absolutely!

Your opinion about rap is mine about rock 'n roll. For the most part, it's garbage.

This is very true. Gangster rap (AKA West Coast rap) was the best thing in the early to mid-90s.
December 11th, 2013 at 2:15 PM ^
I enjoy listening Mike Valenti 90% of the time. Terry Foster is the real problem with that show.
December 11th, 2013 at 10:07 PM ^
Nailed it!!!
Mike Valenti and Doug Karsch would be one of the best sports talk radio combos in the country. Unfortunately, then you would have Gator and Terry making fart noises with their mouths and talking about down river girls

I think Trey Burke made a mistake going pro and that he's overrated (as an NBA player). He's going to be back in college in 5 years finishing his degree while not playing (obviously).
Also, I fully expect Jabrill Peppers to be a bust.
December 11th, 2013 at 2:57 PM ^
Your opinions are ridiculous.
Based on what?! Trey has played, what, 20some games in the NBA? How can you say he is overrated already? PEPPERS?! How the hell can you expect a high school senior to be a bust already? Again, based on what?

I was bored by "There Will Be Blood."
December 11th, 2013 at 2:37 PM ^
But the plot leaves a lot to be desired. I think it is claimed to be a very well acted character study and that alone is supposed to make it a good movie, which I disagree with.
December 11th, 2013 at 2:57 PM ^
Paul Thomas Anderson just keeps making worse and worse movies and somehow clings to a "genius" label because the few people who see them aren't all willing to say "What the hell is this crap?"
If you thought "There Will Be Blood" was bad, "The Master" is a flaming hunk of poo. It's been a steady decline since "Boogie Nights".
December 11th, 2013 at 3:30 PM ^
But I do completely agree that PTA is overrated and I don't understand how he is always considered when of the better modern directors.
December 11th, 2013 at 7:17 PM ^
I will say that his movies are well acted. I like watching the actors themselves, but the movies overall are boring. I saw "The Master" and thought the same thing about it being poopy.

I think Lloyd Carr is singlehandedly responsible for driving Michigan's team into the ground. Jim Tressel owned him, he stepped down after a horrible recruiting year, had a say in who would be hired next, and handcuffed RichRod after his hiring. Our struggles didn't start when RichRod got hired, they started long before that, and had Lloyd Carr not stepped down, I think he would have been fired eventually.
Devin Funchess should be moved to WR and Jake Butt should be full-time at TE next year.
College football will see it's first female head football coach by 2050.
LeBron James will one day own Michael Jordan's records.
Johnny Manziel wouldn't have won the Heisman if he had been allowed to talk to the press before the season ended.

1. I loathe rap and think the world was a happier, or at least less grating, place before it existed.
2. Same as above, only insert "Dave Matthews Band."
3. I'm appalled by militarism in general and the mindless displays of it during football games and other sporting events.
4. The cliche and nonsensical term "throw <x> under the bus" should be retired. It's dumb.
5. Lana Del Rey mesmerizes me for some reason.

but can I have some reasons behind #3?
Appalled? Or just sick of?
And I happen to think its quite mindful, even if the thoughts that went into it happened a long time ago. People I think are appalled at what happened to Service members during and after Vietnam and have vowed not to let that happen again.
Like I said, not going to argue with you, but wanted to understand why you feel this way.
