OT: Christmas or Hannukkah Present / Gift You Always Wanted But Never Got.

Submitted by Lakeyale13 on

Just a fun / light Holiday topic. I always wanted a pair of Jordans as a youngster.  I am 41 now, and literally bought my first pair (Air Jordan 1 Retro Premiums) as an early gift to myself.  So what is the one gift you always wanted but never got, and would you buy it for yourself now?  Nothing like trying to heal childhood wounds as an adult.  LOL.

I actually got very lucky in this regard. Only present I ever hardcore wanted was a top-of-the-line sax I got freshman year of high school. Parents probably didn’t have the cash for it, but Santa came through perfectly. That was years ago, obviously — but it made me thankful for life.

Recently, although prior to Christmas - a win against OSU. You know....maybe ONCE in five years would be acceptable at this point.

In the early 70's I wanted a Honda 80 because three of my friends had one.  After my friends suffered through multiple broken bones, I'm probably better off having not gotten one.

I wanted Zero Gravity Cliff Hangers racing cars.  I put it on my Christmas list for years when I was a kid.

As a joke I put it on my list when I was 21 and my mom finally bought it for me.  I told her she was about 10 years too late with this gift.  Just for fun, as a 21 year old I took it out and raced them around the track only to find out they would not stay on the track and flew off everytime.

K2 fatty pro roller blades. I was suggesting it for months. Ended up getting a mounted jackelope head because they saw me laugh at one on the wall of a restaurant 6 months earlier. The only time I've ever been openly ungrateful for a gift and I'm still not over it. Sigh.

and have a killer three point shot and low post game. Alas, Santa has nothing to do with genetics, which is interesting, because he manages to deliver toys on time every year and still look the same.

Five-year old Sleepy would'vd lost his goddamn mind over this thing.  Sadly, his parents felt that his broke-ass Huffy bike was good enough.  Sigh.
