OT - Cheesiest Movie Lines

Submitted by Tauro on January 18th, 2010 at 2:34 PM

So the other topic about great movie lines had me thinking about the cheesiest lines ever uttered from a actor/actress' mouth.

These are the ones that made you groan in disdain, with the worse offenders being remembered as potential great lines..

For me, two such lines are:

"You had me at hello." Jerry Maguire

"No one puts Baby in a corner." Dirty Dancing

Others? Come on - bring on the cheese!

how about true lies when the doctor iinjects him with the truth serum and then asks ahnold how he plans on killing him "well first, im gonna break out of these cuffs, then im going to snap your neck and finally im going to kill that guard over there with this scalpel"

"I'm a guy with nothing to lose. Fasten your seatbelt."

I cringe every time I see those ads. It looks like someone took "Taken" (which was awesome) and filled it with bad dialogue and cliche one-liners.

I think the retarded brother of Taken (you know, the MSU) is From Paris with Love. Same producers, take an older actor not know for action roles exclusively, make him a bad ass...except this time they picked the wrong actor, shaved his head, didn't make him lose any weight, and makes him talk like he's ghetto-fabulous.

Good call!

They might be cheesy, but they're definitely not bad lines. I think they might have become cheesy and cliche because they're so good and iconic. "You complete me" was pretty cheesy though. Cruise sucks. A great cheesy line was in Empire Strikes Back:
Leah: "I love you."
Solo: "I know."

In Face/Off, that whole thing with the fingers on the faces (not really a line) and "Hello Adam, I'm Jamie" was pretty corny. One really shitty line was in Fast/Furious 1: "He's like gravity--everyone just gets pulled to him...including you." Not necessarily cheesy though, just stupid.

Don't even think of dissing "Here's looking at you, kid." Humphrey Bogart is the man.

Anakin: Don't be afraid.
Padme: I'm not afraid to die. I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life.

Anakin: What are you talking about?
Padme: I love you.

Anakin: You love me? I thought we had decided not to fall in love. That we'd be forced to love a lie and that it would destroy our lives.
Padme: I think our lives are about to be destroyed anyway. I truly... deeply... love you and before we die I want you to know.

I'm a big Star Wars fan, but man did Lucas need a screenwriter for the prequels.

"From my point of view the Jedi are evil!"
-Anakin, Revenge of the Sith. It is the worst line in the entire movie, perhaps the entire Saga.

"For some reason she has lost the will to live"
-Medical bot in Revenge of the Sit, when Padme is dying during childbirth.

I am a huge Star Wars nerd and have all of the lines from the original trilogy memorized. George Lucas lost me with his screenwriting during the prequels. It was like a third grader wrote the dialogue.
