Title says it all? Is that how this works?

And he won an NBA Championship.

WTF are you talking about whining like this? The moves that have been made since LeBron arrived (again) have all been needed and necessary. They've been to the finals 3 straight years, won one, and have walked through the East.

LeBron's needs space and shooters...that's what they've been determined to get since he arrived. He needed the same thing in Miami...Bosh was made to be a sit in the corner shooting PF just like Love. They went and got Ray Allen and they made sure whoever was playing PG could knock down 3's.

The Warriors changed the game with Durant...so now the Cavs are trying to adapt. Rather than play 3 ball and give up defense (minus Thompson)...they're looking at possibily adding George or Butler.

My question is, how does LeBron feel about playing the 4? Because if you make that move...LeBron is now playing Draymond all series. Which isn't a huge deal.

For the Cavs it makes perfect sense...because they finally matchup and they don't have to change their lineup.

Thompson vs. McGee or Warriors C
James vs. Green
George/Butler vs. Durant
Smith/Shumpert vs. Thompson
Irving vs. Curry

Then we they go small...the Cavs are still okay...

Thompson vs. Green
James vs. Durant
George/Butler vs. Iguadola/Livingston
Smith/Shumpert vs. Thompson
Irving vs. Curry

Love is a great player, but you can see what they're trying to do...they're trying to eliminate the mismatch with Love on the floor where they wind up choosing between Love OR Thompson instead of AND Thompson.

LeBron leaving? He's not staying. They'll give one more try at a title, and he's leaving after that.

LA being a destination? It still is, and always will be.

The fact that Dan Gilbert's behind this makes this much less surprising - he's a consumnate douchewipe and I hold him in even lower regard than the Boren family.  David Griffin is a solid GM - have no idea what Gilbert was thinking, but then again if I woke up wearing Dan Gilbert's face I'd smash it into a concrete wall on general principle

This is exactly how Dan Gilbert runs his companies. Work you to the bone, then the minute you don't produce, you're fired. He thinks a 60 hour work week is a "light" week

Agreed. That's just corporate propaganda to fool the sheep into thinking a 60-80 hour week is the key to becomming a millionaire. "If you work 80 hours, you can be a billionaire too!" (eye roll).

The fast majority of the self made wealthy are just highly intelligent people who had great ideas. Not saying they didn't work hard, but long hours does not equal great wealth.

Plenty of people putting in 60-80+ hours working 2 jobs in fast food, retail, etc barely making ends meat.

Not all billionaires make their bones the same way.

Also, I wasn't picking on his grammar at all. I didn't notice that until the end. I called out his bull shit argument that people in low wage positions who work 60+ hours a week are not billionaires. Yeah, no shit they're not billionaires.

Exactly how he treats the core sales people in his company. I've had a half dozen friends who've tried the mortgage banking "career" at QL. 6-7 day 80+ hour weeks. They promise you riches, then work you endlessly, micromanager you, tear you down, burn you out, and then you either quit or get fired.

Gilbert is a garbage owner, a worse person, that uses "Reviving Detroit" as some masquerade that he's a good guy. He did it to make fucking money people.

This is NOT the time to bring in a rookie GM. Lebron effectively has a 3 year window left, regardless of where he goes. If he's healthy for 3 more seasons, he's going to be just under 50,000 minutes played in the league. Only 5 guys in history have topped 50K: Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Garnett, Kidd, and Elvin Hayes. Given his game, by the time Lebron gets to that many minutes, I suspect he's going to wear down very quickly, and any injuries along the way are only going to speed up the process. In short: this is NOT the time to break out the chemistry set in the front office.

Yes maybe, but you may still have won. Love was minimal in the Finals and is only remembered positivly because he played 10 secs of defense.

We may have faired much better this year with Wiggins and also remember we may have been able to chase another bigger player with the money love took up.

Love's contribution is the most under appreciated thing I've ever seen.  He was an absolute beast throughout the playoffs.

Go ahead and stack up his numbers compared to every other PF in the league.  The dude racked up 19 and 11 as the 3rd scoring option.  For some reason people seem to think 19 and 11 grows on trees.  He ranked 12th in the ENTIRE league for double/doubles.  He was the 4th leading scorer among PFs, and 2nd in 3 pointers made as the 3rd scoring option.  There isn't a stat for how his presence alone opens up the lane because he has to be accounted for beyond the 3 pt line.

His impact is something that won't truly be felt until after he's gone.

Wiggins doesn't rebound, or pass well.  He's a career 33% 3 pt shooter, and 79th! for Defensive real +/- among small forwards.  So exactly which part of the game would he be affecting more positively than Kevin Love?  It's not as a primary ballhandler, making 3s, defensively, rebounding, or passing.

LeBron was over 30 when we got him, and the minutes on his legs probably make him 35 in basketball years.

He did not have time to play wet nurse to Wiggins.

Kevin Love is an all star at a position of need.  The only thing that makes sense to me is maybe Paul George.  I'm of the opinion that nobody can truly guard Durant except Kawhi, but George would be a lot better than most.  LeBron would have to play PF.  Even if it's for one year and the whole team implodes afterwards, I don't care.  There will never be another player like LBJ.  We have him now, win NOW.

Don't do it Billups! It would be so hard to make any moves with how the Cavs are set up. Plus as a Pistons fan, I would hate to see you go to a team that you battled hard against for us during your playing days!
