OT- Can the Tigers just start counting hits as runs?

Submitted by save_me_forcier on
At least in games where we give up more than 4 runs. We would only be down 2 vs cleveland right now. How can this offense be so awful? I keep praying that they are just gonna put up 5 runs a few games in a row, but no. The consistently awful hitting is incredible. PS. were against Carl freaking Pavano (ERA 5.66 coming into the game)

Well this team just takes horrible at bats. Carl Pavano's best starts this are against the Tigers. So basically the Tigers suck at hitting.

I agree that they just aren't a good team. However, my stance for the past 2 months has just been hoping for them to stay a couple games ahead of the white sox and twins and sneak into the playoffs. Then if JV,jackson, and washburn pitch like they can we might be able to sneak out some wins and who knows what could happen. If this team were in any other division I would have given up already.

Absolutely incredible that the Tigers don't have a batter hitting over .270 except for Cabrera. That's a mark that Polanco, Ordonez, and Granderson, at the very least, should all be very comfortably above.

I'm not gonna say we're going through worse, but two nights in a row our closer blew a save. One lost the game. 2-1 going into the bottom of the ninth and two pitches, two solo shots in a row for the Marlins. Last night, 8-5, two out, two strikes in the bottom of the ninth and he gives up three runs (all the hits were with two strikes) and Derrek Lee won it in the tenth 9-8. I see the Tigers' struggles but I counter that they are still in first place.
