OT: Bogus roughing the passer penantly on MNF

Submitted by TTUwolverine on
So I just watched the most ridiculous roughing the passer penalty I've ever seen. Seriously, Edwards had just barely gotten the ball off when he got hit. I'm all about protecting the quarterback, but jesus, that wasn't even close.

The absurd part is that in college football, no penalty is called on those plays. I now have justification for only watching college football: the NFL molly-coddles its QBs.

Yesterday was some ridiculous officiating in both games. I thought the "drop" in the Oakland game was awful, as I don't think he used the ground to help him secure that catch in the least. Then those two roughing the passers were silly. Wilfork literally had his shoulder pads on the man's upper thighs on that, and they called not a late hit, but hitting too low? Am I wrong on that? Then Thomas doesn't even drive the man into the ground, just wheels him around and throws him (with the ball!), and that's a penalty. Ridiculous.
