OT - Blimpy Is Back
Here's the news link:

Opening in late June downtown - just west of Main near Liberty, in the old Eastern Flame.
The question is whether I will attempt the experience/run the ordering gauntlet after having lived in A2 for nearly 40 years.
No doubt there will be a variety of opinions about the re-opening, even as there were when it closed. But, overall, good to see the icon renewed if only so we can see it on another episode of "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives."

Great to have them back, but I really question their choice of location. Makes me wonder what their realtor was selling them.

The empty Korean place on William and Thompson would have been ideal location-wise. I doubt very many students are going to make the trek down to Main St. in normal circumstances.
Agree about that location, but then again, I've seen plenty of non-students at Blimpy's whenever I've gone.
Elevation Burger >>>>>>>>>>> Blimpy
I hope they fail. The "service with attitude" bit is really lame and they were not transparent at all with people in their IndieGoGo campaign (never revealing the location they supposedly had decided on back then nor projecting a time range that they could open).
Bet they'll be even more overpriced now too.
Good Burger >>>>>>>>>>Mando Burger
The "service with attitude" thing stopped awhile ago, or at least that's how it seemed when I went the last few times.
Thank God! LOVED Blimpy Burger too.
