OT - Best Burger In Each State
Came across this list on Yahoo today. No big surprise as Blimpy Burger was the vote for Michigan. As a Chicago resident, I was happy to see Au Cheval make the list for Illinois as that burger is to die for. And lastly, the best burger I ever had made the cut, at Parlour in Minneapolis. So board, did the list do your state justice?
Wife went to Husk when she was in SC. Raved about the food there.
Husk is no joke. It has been voted best restaurant in America multiple times since it opened up.

or are we talking individual restaurants? Because no one/few will have heard of the many, many upscale places that make great burgers. . . across the country whereas chain burgers. . . In the latter category, I would say that Burger Phi makes the best chain burger I have had:
And it's a place that you don't feel diminished spending an hour in.
My favorite chain burger is at TGI Fridays. The Jack Daniels' burger.
ugh
Now I am salivating.
OHIO
Wrong. Just wrong. The best burger in Ohio is this one at Bier Markt (Bar Cento) on West 25th Street in Cleveland. I forget the name of it, but damn it is amazing.
I think they were right on it in ohio. The Turf Club burgers are amazing. I have never had the one you are referring too though. So I am not saying you are incorrect in your judgement.

Then I am saying you spelled "judgment" incorrectly.
McDonalds.

Including an "/s" ruins any attempt at sarcasm. And I'm not being sarcastic.
But if I don't include it I'll get negged and lose my precioussssssss MGoPointsssssss.
I could not agree more, blueblueblue. If the words don't convey the sarcasm, you haven't done your job. Find better words. Not criticizing your words, Mean Joe. I got the sarcasm.
If I include the /s then you criticize. If I don't include it then someone else would criticize. Such is the way of this blog.
Are you being sarcastic? You said you aren't criticizing, but then you did criticize. Well I am criticizing the way you criticized me.

You have too many blues in your name.
Is an amazing place. Dude is a meat savant.
MEAT SAVANT!!! giggidy
best burger I've had there was "Up The Creek" ... with plenty of cold brews ! Ahhh
Go Blue!
The best burger I've ever had is the Gruner burger. Best beef, best bread, best everything.
I can testify about the NC representative. Johnsons in Siler City is a weird place that is only open at select times during the week. Sometimes the old man shuts her down with the line out of the door at 12pm. Having to go to Siler City is a drag in and of itself, but that cheeseburger "all the way" is the truth.
Oooh, I gotta put that on the list for my next visit to the family. Nothin' tops a burger better than mustard, cheese, chili, and slaw!
Talley's in Lewiston for old school simplicity

That's a great one, but Miller's in Dearborn has my vote.

He wins.
1/2 ground bacon, 1/2 ground beef patties with a pile of bacon dusted fries and a cold brew.
Yes, I agree. That is one dirty burger.
Fuck that
Never been to the one in SD. The one in Pasadena is fucking awesome though.

+1 for the LTH mention
If you haven't had it, try burgers at Owen & Engine and at White Oak. Both are exceptional
I like to lather my burger up in some balsamic.
we were written up recently as having perfected the gourmet burger.
our Capo Loco burger is unreal.
Ciabatta Bun
Hand Ground Short Rib patty
Prosciutto
Citrus Balsamic Glaze
Fresh Mozzarella
Goddess Aioli
Red Leaf
Tomato
Crispy Basil
I love burgers didn't post this. I would say in Michigan it's the Red Coat on Woodward.
I usually get zip sauce on my burger if I go there. Been awhile since I have been there though
Swinery in West Seattle is the best burger I've ever had and commonly listed as the best burger in Seattle.
The best burger I've had in Indiana was at Triple XXX in West Lafayette. In the northwest part of the state, Miner-Dunn in Highland and Schoop's are very good.
Are you a fan of the Duane Purvis?
I miss XXX being dirty and open 24 hours.
Yet another place that Guy Fieri has ruined.
Never had the Duane Purvis. Peanut butter on a burger never appealed to me. I usually go with the Bernie Flowers and a root beer.
The best burger in New York is this place in the west village called Whitehall
Hands down the best. Millers gave me diarrhea for a week. That is all.
RedCoat is good but overpriced
Best burger in Detroit! Bar none
At the flat top behind the bar and has a dollop of the hot mustard. Some others to consider.
. Spike' s in Grayling, Ray' s in Reading (Mi), and back in the day... the Charlie Brown at Diamond Jim Brady's on Seven Mile was worth the hype.
My favorite place to get a burger is Freddy's Tavern in Mount Pleasant. The bar doesn't look like a place with great food, but the burgers there are awesome.
They said, "Tommy’s regular cheeseburger could likely compete for best in a lot of other, bigger states as well."
Well Alaska IS the biggest state. I kinda stopped reading after that.
Alaska is better known for seafood anway.

A lot of places make amazing burgers, but nobody tops a $4.50 Shake Shake or In-N-Out burger. Many of the pubs and restaurants want $10-15 and it's either too big or they monkey with it too much.
