OT: Amazon Allowing Viewers to Vote on TV Show Pilots
Normally, I wouldn't post something like this but I know people are struggling to find things to watch as sports and tv series are ending their seasons.
Amazon has released a set of pilot episodes for potential TV series and they are allowing people to watch the episodes for free then vote to decide their fate. Amazon has already greenlit Zombieland for season 1, although, I've read that they don't have any of the original cast for it. Alpha House is another pilot they are offering and has John Goodman in it (how can you go wrong with John Goodman?). There's also one called Onion News Empire, and I know how much everyone here loves The Onion.
Anyway, I thought I'd pass this along for anyone trying to figure out how to pass some time. As an aside, if you haven't watched House of Cards on Netflix, it's fantastic and I highly suggest that you watch it.

I appreciate these kinds of posts...one of the reasons I enjoy MGoBlog. Aside from all of the great info on sports, we discuss all sorts of things. I'm trying to convince my lady friend that there's more to this site (which she thinks I check way too often) than just football/meathead talk.
See! There's also talk about Zombie tv shows!
Cool. Thanks for the info. Btw, for those in Vegas who are looking for cheap entertainment during the day, inside the MGM Grand hotel CBS has a research studio where they show pilots and elicit feedback. They ususally give out a few coupons as payment, but they also do use focus groups, and if you're the right demographic in at the right time, they do pay focus groups. I made $50.00 doing that a few years ago--not a lot of money, but it was fun doing it too.
I'ved watched three of eight. I thought Alpha Dogs was really good. It has a great cast, and I'm interesting in seeing what happens next.
Zombieland was ok, but it was hard not to compare the new people to the cast from the movie. If it gets picked up, I would likely watch it again.
I liked browsers, but it is very much a nitch show, and I kind of doubt it will be picked up because of that. I'd put Browsers above Zombieland but not by a lot. I plan on watching the other 5 today if I find the time.
