OT: All You Animal Lovers Out There: Help Needed!

Submitted by GBOD79 on
I know this is way off topic but I need help. Friends of mine are rescuers for the organization Dogs Deserve Better and have 6 puppies they rescued from a man. The man kept all 6 in a 3x3 pen. The puppies were covered in feces and as a result have 3 types of worms and many other complications. Because of this their medical bills have started to pile up. The donated money has all been used. One of the puppies has been in animal hospital for two days now. So we need help. On top of this the mother is not spayed yet and we are working to get that done. If you are willing to donate to this cause please click the link at the bottom. I dont know if this against site rules or not and if it is I apologize. It just breaks my heart seeing animals treated so badly. Thank you in advance! http://dogsdeservebetterinlandempire.chipin.com/edieshialolawillowdrew-…

The case has been turned into the animal services department. However, it may never be acted upon with the amount of cases they have. If you call the police they say call the animal services department. They will get off free of charge for this because the system is tainted and quite frankly people dont care.

They have raised $695 of $900 needed. Almost there. I really hate animal abuse because unlike humans they can't defend themselves. Fucking cowards.

You mentioned on your blog that the pups were eating their scat. Are you feeding them puppy chow? That will cut down a lot of that behavior. There has to be a special spot in hell for those who abuse or neglect creatures that can't defend themselves.

The pups were severely infected with worms. Combine that with a malnourishment and they needed special food to gain weight. We have been cleaning the poop after every time they go. Its a tough job. We hope they will be off the "super food" here in the next 3 weeks but they are still very skinny. Not only were they hept in a tiny pen covered in their own waste, the owners did not provide proper food or water.

Yes they are. However, they are in California where I am at, hence my name on here. If you are interested in adopting one I will look into transport for you and arrange it for you. It would take a lot to get a puppy from California to Michigan but for a good home for them I will do anything.

I should also let you know that I will be travelling from California to Michigan in early June. I do not know the adoption procedures very well but it will probably require a home visit by a DDB rep. I might be able to transport the pup for you.

I just have to say as an owner of several adopted dogs that I really appreciate your work. One of my current dogs, Molli, who happens to be the most caring and intelligent dog I've ever had or seen, was adopted (I will go to my grave swearing that that dog either understands English or is psychic, because there is no other explanation for the things she's done or the way she acts). One of my dogs was blind, and when I would let them go out and do their business in the morning they would all wander around my back yard. When I would call them all in, Molli, without any prompting or training from me, would go and find Tucker (the blind dog) and put her head on his shoulders and shepherd him into my house. It was really amazing to watch and always brought tears to my eyes. The compassion that this dog has for others continues to amaze me. One of my friends specializes in adoptive work with dogs and has done several rescues in the past. She often harbors dogs until she can find permanent homes for them. Keep fighting the good fight.
