God I hate everything about Boston so fucking Much except for Brady.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
Sit down Prince you fat overpaid ass clown.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
Prince Fielder is a loser.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
A-Rod is on the tigers now?
October 19th, 2013 at 11:40 PM ^
Scherzer is soft. They should have to drag him off the mound kicking and screaming. Ship his ass for a closer
October 19th, 2013 at 11:41 PM ^
You are literally too stupid to insult.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:42 PM ^
He's our 3rd best starter
October 19th, 2013 at 11:43 PM ^
You're an idiot. That's the nicest way I can put it.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:45 PM ^
Keep taking up for prince, guy
October 19th, 2013 at 11:48 PM ^
Yeah, I said you can't blame Prince for breaking home on a ground ball with 0 outs and the contact play on. Then Martinez ran into an out.
Apparently, me pointing that out is some kind of sin.
Whatever. I never defended Prince's shitty ABs. You, on the other hand, clearly know jack shit about baseball.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:45 PM ^
I hope you're just shitfaced right now.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:47 PM ^
Any pitcher that asks to be taken out of the game is soft. Period.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:49 PM ^
Keep distorting the facts.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:50 PM ^
That didn't happen tonight genius. And so what? If he thinks he's gonna do more hark than good then he's being responsible. He's a human not a machine.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:53 PM ^
I didn't say it happened tonight.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:51 PM ^
Your version of reality is completely distorted.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:46 PM ^
Scherzer didn't act like a baby on the mound so he's soft? I seem to remember him getting us out of horrid situations before. Maybe Jimmy should have just left him in?
October 19th, 2013 at 11:46 PM ^
Comment of the thread, by far.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:50 PM ^
I pretty much agree
October 19th, 2013 at 11:47 PM ^
Call it a night man
October 19th, 2013 at 11:48 PM ^
I probably should
October 19th, 2013 at 11:41 PM ^
Horseshit inconsistent umping, too.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:41 PM ^
This series is an all-time epic choke job. How you can lose a series when your starting pitchers practically throw you 5 games of 1 run or less ball is just sickening.
Fielder should refund his salary to charity. He's hardly the only one not producing, but the Tigers could have gotten more production out of playing Don Kelly at first base all postseason than Fielder. At least Kelly plays defense while grounding out to 2nd base every time.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:43 PM ^
We can get the current Fielder to run up obscene gambling debt to the Detroit casinos and an "unfortunate accident" occurs that costs Prince his thumbs?
October 19th, 2013 at 11:43 PM ^
Are we just doing their fielding practice for the WS? Seriously.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:44 PM ^
Why did Bruce have to get hurt.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:52 PM ^
Not to mention Rondon had a higher ERA than Veras, Smyly and Benoit.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:58 PM ^
Probably not, but man his stuff looked good the last game he was in before he was hurt.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:44 PM ^
If anyone is willing to eat Prince's contract (no pun intended, or maybe..whatever, fuck everything) we could maybe throw a few buckets of water on this bullpen dumpster fire.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:46 PM ^
Brutal series for anybody that supports the upper management of this team.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:52 PM ^
upgrade the bullpen.Depending upon a rookie and then trying to make up for it with Valverde, Veras, and Benoit was a huge mistake.
The Tigers are at a crossroads. They probably will losr Scherzer after the 14' if they don't trade him by then and they still are stuck with the ten ton stone called Prince Fielder's contract. They will lose VMart and Peralta as well.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:54 PM ^
Fielder's contract is just awful.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:57 PM ^
Lumping him in with Valverde is BS. One grand slam doesn't change the fact that he had a good year overall.
I do agree with the overall sentiment though, they should have tried to do more by the deadline in addition to acquiring Veras. Thought they could have taken a gamble on Brian Wilson before LA did, for example.
October 20th, 2013 at 12:01 AM ^
The bullpen debacle is fair criticism on Dombrowski, but it also doesn't help that Villarreal became a huge liability, Coke disappeared after a fantastic postseason, Dotel's elbow finally exploded, and Rondon didn't make the leap as quick as we all had hoped.
He should have gotten another LOOGY though, once it became clear that Coke was going to be generally awful.
October 20th, 2013 at 12:07 AM ^
& not all of it self-induced. Al Al was flat unhittable before bonked on noggin in batting practice. Since he finally came back, he's alternated unhittable with 3 walks on 12 pitches then a double.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:48 PM ^
starting pitching was so good this series, that's usually enough
October 19th, 2013 at 11:48 PM ^
Well this sucks. Good series I guess, can't believe two grand slams won them the series. So many missed opportunities, but that's baseball. Boston fans are insufferable too.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:48 PM ^
Who can be hired to replace Leyland?
October 19th, 2013 at 11:49 PM ^
John Madden
October 19th, 2013 at 11:55 PM ^
I'm assuming you mean Joe Maddon....and no he's not leaving his comfy, no pressure job in Tampa.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:53 PM ^
Ditka.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:54 PM ^
Crappy players are and that is on Dave Dombroski.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:56 PM ^
Dude no way. He is the best GM in baseball IMO
October 20th, 2013 at 12:25 AM ^
The guy has won a WS title and can possibly add a second. Meanwhile the Tigers haven't won a WS since the Reagan administration.
Dombroski has been around since 02' and hasn't won a title yet and I doubt he ever will. He alternates horrid decisions with briliant ones. Strangest job performance GM/President I have ever seen.
October 19th, 2013 at 11:55 PM ^
Henry Rosenfurler
October 19th, 2013 at 11:56 PM ^
The guy just brought this team to ALCS for 3rd straight time. This team that had these million warts & hardly a redeeming quality as everyone keeps complaining about here. Have you seen Boston's payroll? And where were they last year? The angels? Where are they? & of course the Yankees. Sorry, but idea that Leland should go for this is nuts. (Too tired to fight spell on Leland's name...argh!)
