OT - Adidas custom Michigan football jersey
So, having been an M fan all my life, it's pretty sad that the only jerseys I've ever owned were a number 1 jersey as a toddler (presumably for Alexander, but I, admittedly, didn't know the difference) and a number 2 jersey during Charles Woodson's reign... both of which I've long outgrown (obviously).
I've always preferred when a jersey commemorates a player, instead of just having the number so I looked around for custom jerseys and found this little doodad . I had remember seeing MDen doing these a while back, but I can't seem to find it on their website. I'm curious if anyone has bought one of these personalized jerseys from independent suppliers and whether they're well made or not. I'm a little worried because it is an independent supplier, and the picture they show makes it look like it could be cheap looking, so I want to be sure I'm not wasting 65 bones on a piece of shit.
Also, (a little less important) I want some advice on what player to get. I'm class of '11 here so I'm partial to getting Warren, 6, but lately I've been having some second thoughts. Hemingway, 21, is also in my class and he could be just as much of an impact player now that he's healthy. Other than that I've been considering:
Campbell 73 - potential four year starter, and all around badass)
Mesko 41 - only one year left, but I would like to immortalize the space emperor, among other obvious reasons (just having a punter's jersey would be pretty sweet.)
Odoms 9 - one of my favorite players from last year (despite the fumbles) and a good representative of M's culture change
I don't want to get a Forcier jersey for the sole reason that I'm not as sure as everyone else is that he'll beat out Robinson.
Help me out, folks

Just so you know, they won't be able to make a customized jersey with the name and number of any current or former player. So, you could get a #6 jersey and the name on it could be anything but Warren (or whoever else has worn 6 for Michigan in the past), but that said 6 and 73 would be hot picks right now

It says in the customization rules "League player names must match current team rosters and the team for which they currently play." Is there some exception for college football? If so, there's a kid I know who has a 22 jersey with "Stonum" on the back, any idea where he could've gotten that?

You can always buy the jersey with the number you want and take it to an independent sports store that can screen print the name you want. A lot of times those places are too dumb to notice or don't care because they want the money. So for example buy the #6 jersey online and take it to your local sports store and ask if they do screen printing and then get the name you want. Usually works...I had that done with an old #1 jersey.

Eastbay is another source, typically cheaper and always running promotions.

Though you cannot use old or current player names, you can always use nicknames. BOO BOO #33, perhaps?
you could but something like Boo Boo #33 sounds like a jersey that you'd buy at wal-mart and not a moe's or mden.
I got a customized Edwards #1 jersey. They don't regulate the names like you think they would. All that being said, the cut of the jersey kinda sucked...disproportionate sleeves, etc.
I always suffered when getting jerseys while I was younger that the player I chose would inevitably suck/get arrested/get traded once they left UM. I think your only logical choice is a Zoltan jersey. #41, nameplate "Emperor". That one will last a lifetime just like a John Kolesar jersey.
