OT-90 yard throw by Antrel Rolle?

Submitted by UMWest22 on
Cris Collinsworth just said, during an Antrel Rolle wildcat play, that he (Rolle) can throw the ball 90 yards. Did anyone else hear this? All I can say is, Why on EARTH isn't he playing quarterback? That would probably count as the strongest arm in the NFL...

Doesn't mean that you should be a starting QB in the league. If it was all arm strength then Troy Smith would be a super star!

iI like Collinsworth but he does like to spew a lot of bull. I mean there is no chance in hell that Rolle throws 90 yards. I mean in the CFL they have a QB challenge which tests longest throw as one of the challenges and the longest was 73 yards I believe.

When the hell did I say better? And thanks for pointing out that if CFL QB's were better then NFL ones they would be in the NFL. I didn't know that. Arm strength doesn't equate to NFL success necessarily, and some CFL QB's have stronger arms.

equal success, than Jeff George would have been one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, but alas he was not. He sucked as a QB, but could I swear he could throw the ball 70+ yards in the air off of his back foot. Of course he usually threw off his back foot, unbalanced, which is why he sucked.

So you're telling me he could take a snap at his own 10 and hit a receiver in the endzone? 90 yards sounds long, but after you think about how far that actually is, I don't see any way that's true. EDIT: Also, wouldn't you need to be in the pocket for like 7 seconds before throwing that ball, even if the guy you're throwing to is really really fast?

ryan mallett could throw the ball 86 yards in the air in HS persona non grata toney clemons once said that he thought mallett could throw it endzone to endzone. i could see rolle having that type of arm strength, a strong arm alone does not a QB make.
