OT: 30 for 30 on the '85 Chicago Bears tonight at 9pm

I'm looking forward to this one, especially hearing more about the Ditka/Ryan feud. One of the greatest teams of all time and some of the wildest personalities in NFL history.

I've actually been curious about this one and I think I'll tune in as soon as my wife gives up the TV, which she has promised to do after Legends Of Tomorrow.

I still have a set of football cards for that 1985 Bears team - I say that as a Lions fan, but even as a kid, I had a feeling about which team set might spark better discussion later on.

Greatest team in NFL History. They would chewed up Miami in any Super Bowl rematch.  I believe they played game 1 with Steve Fuller at quarterback in the Orange Bowl. Bad start and couldn't recover. It happens. It wouldn't have happened twice and not on the biggest stage for all the marbles.

Other than the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants (all years), this Chicago team has to be the lowest class team I've ever seen.  Which is amazing, considering Payton and Singletary were on it.  Ditka is so low-rent, and so was Ryan - both assholes.

St Peter is going to stop Ditka at the pearly gates and ask him to justify not giving the ball to Walter Payton on goal line. And then he'll let Ditka look longingly for a moment before kicking him down to Hades.

Payton toiled for years on bad Bears teams and never bitched about it. Always played the good soldier. He played the game with enthusiasm unknown to mankind minus Harbaugh. He was right and Ditka was wrong.

And Ditka has admitted it since. He still needs to pay for it.

30 for 30, but I'll admit to being biased.  Very touching.  Lived in the Chicago at the time, hosted a Super Bowl party, had no idea at the time how unique that year/team was.  Amazing defense, crazy QB, speedy Gault, Sweetness, Super Bowl Shuffle, Ditka, Buddy, even the kicker was a celebrity.

Butthead was one of my favorite Bears. I was ten years old at the time, and fortunate enough to go to the Super Bowl and stay in the same hotel the Bears were in. We saw them walking to breakfast one morning, so I ran up to the room to get a pen and paper to try and get autographs. I got on the elevator to go back down and it was packed. A guy spoke up and said he wasn't letting anyone else on. The next floor down, the elevator stopped and the doors opened. There stood Kevin Butler! The loudmouth proceeded to squeeze toward the back to give Butthead room. Priceless memory!

I remeber I had a Patriots hoodie that I wore religiously during that time. Kind of ironic seeing that we were from Benton Harbor, which is 90 min from Chicago, and my dad was a big Sweetness fan. He even taped the MNF matchup vs Miami. My mom still has that tape.
