OT - 2016 #2 Overall Recruit Gregory Little Decommits from A&M

Submitted by alum96 on

...and with that the 0% crystal ball to Bama in May 2015 has turned to 57% (and climbing).

Insert bag men reference here.  Oh and Ole Miss is also apparently involved.

He stopped by Ole Miss June 8 and Alabama the following day. For what it's worth, 14 recruiting reporters have since predicted he will change his commitment to Alabama on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Little was named the offensive line MVP at The Opening after holding his own against a number of top defensive lineman, including Rashan Gary, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. Little is currently No. 2 on the list.

"I think it was a pretty fun matchup," Little said. "We're both two top guys and everybody hyped it up... It was a lot of fun playing against Rashan. Much love. Me and him talked before this. I have his number and he has my number so we talk about once a week to see how everything's going. Me and him and much respect for each other."

At 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, Little is ranked as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, according to 247Sports Composite. He also is atop the Dallas Morning News’ list of the Top 100 recruits in the class of 2016.  Little hopes to make a new decision on Nov. 4.

If he had a good excuse, it would be semi-plausible, but the bottom line is that he decommitted from a program with no reputation of cheating to flirt with two programs that are famous for their prolific use of money and "hostess sandiwches."

It's time to just let players take money from boosters, endorsements and whereever else they can get it.

A&M is about the opposite of clean program. Historically they've been dirty to such a degree they were banned a couple of times from the postseason, and more recently Johnny Football had lots of questions regarding how A&M handled him and his various exploits. This is just a situation of different programs throwing money around.

I'll go you one better—let's dispense with the educational pretense altogether. Make college football simply a professional sport attached to college campuses. College degrees are for no-talent losers anyhow, right?

I've watched this for about 10 minutes now and as much as I'm impressed by Gary sheer ferocity, I'm just realizing how difficult and skilled good tackles are. They're basically blocking a bulldozer from trucking over their QB all without holding or grabbing or anything. I mean, if I was in Little's place I would be running in the other direction as fast as I can.

The impressive thing about Gary's reps there is that Little actually had pretty good technique. He's no chopped liver. On the first rep, he needed to sink a tiny bit lower, and he really didn't have a good punch - I think Gary surprised Little with how quick his first couple steps were. On the second one, just when Little starts to open up, Gary cuts back inside and Little was unable to cancel the inside rush. But that's really good technique for a high schooler, and Gary's just extremely fast and very strong. He's a beast.

Texas A&M is no slouch for bagmen.  There must be a hell of a fight behind the scenes going on.

Enough to finance Greece for 6 months.

One of the best things Michigan has going for themselves is that Rashan's mother is really high on Michigan. He seems like the type of recruit that if you please Mom, you please him. Some one call up Tim Allen and have him do a special Pure Michigan video for Rashan Gary's mother.

They sucked, then they got Saban, won 3 national titles, generally are top 5 perpetually, and have a ton of guys in the NFL.

But the #1 OT in the country decides to go there and everyone screams bagmen. If Michigan had that resume we'd be screaming bagmen if every 5* in the country DIDN'T come to Michigan.

Of course Ole Miss is cheating, but what evidence and what motive does Bama have to cheat? They're the dynasty of this decade

I'll get negged for this. But, if we ever have a dynasty like that. Michigan will have most likely gotten away with a couple things that aren't within the rules. So what, it's a crap system with a corrupt governing body. If a big booster wants to give Rashans' mom 50k because Michigan being good at football for the next four years makes his life that much more enjoyable more power to him.

I have zero proof, but I assume Alabama is clean.  I have no idea why I think that, but I do (I mean, not squeaky, 100% clean, but essentially as clean as Michigan).  I think it's mostly because I beleive that, in general, corruption comes from the boosters, not the coaches, and Alabama was thouroughly mediocre prior to Saban.  I also assume that Auburn, Ole Miss, and Clemson are dirty.

I have many more opinions if anyone would like to subscribe to my newsletter.

Bo never won a National Championship! what are your goals for this program? If you want a dynasty, if you want to compete with Alabama. We can't do it the way Bo did it. But I assume like a lot on here you're okay with just the Rose Bowl.

What is the Rose Bowl and what relevance does it have to Michigan the past decade plus? I for one had plenty of issues with Bo and thought that he could have achieved a little more than he did at Michigan. Despite his relative shortcomings, the guy achieved an incredible deal. You pounding your chest, slamming you dick on the table and talking National Championships!!?!!??!! You do realize that Michigan has won 1 in the last, I don't know, 50 fucking years? Michigan's great win % and all-time wins are mostly due to a coach that last coached 90 years ago and the guy you derided for not ever winning a national championship. But you go ahead and not accepting anything less than national championships. I am sure the University and its athletic department will be very accommodating to your needs.
