OSU starting SG Kam Williams suspended indefinitely

Submitted by Bambi on

Just announced by Chris Holtmann a little more than 90 minutes before their home tip off against Illinois. Williams is 5th on the team in points with 8 PPG and 4th on the team with 22.3 MPG.

It'll be interesting to see how long this suspension lasts. They play @Purdue on Wednesday and our rematch with with them is two weeks from today. The Buckeyes don't have a ton of depth, especially at G so it'll be interesting to see who starts for them now. Their options are:

Andrew Dakich: 17.6 MPG, 3.2 PPG, 1.7 RPG, 2.2 APG, played over 20 minutes in every game except 2 since B1G play restarted, only scored more than 5 points in those games twice and scoreless 3 times

Musa Jallow: 15.9 PPG, 2.5 PPG, 1.6 RPG, 1 APG, true freshman, 147th ranked overall player this past recruiting class as a SF, single digit minutes played in 4 of his past 5 games, scoreless in his past 8 games, hasn't scored more than 1 bucket since 11/29 against Clemson.

At this point it seems like Dakich should get the nod, but regardless OSU now only has 3 guards on the roster and 2 of them are pretty non functional. Interesting to see how Holtmann adjusts to the situation.

If history is any indication it will last precisely until the day they begin practicing for the Michigan game.

As luck would have it ALL OSU suspensions in every sport end that day.  Crazy.

none of them are suspended and all of them are healthy for their visit to Chrysler in two weeks.

Because fuck them.

We are going to kick their asses back to Columbus regardless, no excuses needed.

Since we are talking about OSU, I just assumed he meant their trip to the Chrysler dealership for their next "rental" car.

Illinois could actually be an iffy matchup for OSU now, the way the Illini press and trap.  That can take its toll on a thin backcourt.

Illinois was up 30-15 at the 10 min mark. The score is 34-30 OSU is leading. You read that right OSU went on a 19-0 run to close the half what a joke

Cheering against the buckeyes this year has been maddening. I have spent the majority of the season thinking that they would be a flash in the pan. They keep winning, and they look legit.  I hope we can get the win @ home this year.
