The fact that the fans on 11W were all in on this idea truly pisses me off... At least we were open about how shitty of ideas skywriting 'Go Blue' over Spartan Stadium and referring to OSU as Ohio were.  Also, there are people that still refer to us as scUM??? I mean that is ESPN comment section level.

Sorry if this isn't new stuff from them, but I thought these guys would be a little more fair-weathered.  The college football subreddit actually has some decent OSU fans.

The one thing I still don't understand about the fans of "The Ohio State University" is their level of anger and animosity when Brady kept calling them Ohio!

1) But when they score a touchdown, their cheerleaders bring out flags on the field that spell:

2) There fans spell:

3)  Their band spells out:

4)  Their stadioum is called:

So if they want to be called Ohio State, can't they just spell the extra 5 freakin' letters!

It truly amazes me the insane length that these people in Ohio go to, they prove they don't have a life or semblance of balance in their lives.  In any big rivalry - USC/UCLA, Texas/Oklhoma, Alabama/Auburn, Army/Navy, etc., no one goes to these levels of just sheer stupidity all in the name of a rivalry.

what other rivalry sparks poisoning of trees or shooting a fellow fan because said fan is perceived to not being upset enough after a loss to its rival? Those people are fucking crazy. One stop on my bucket list is an Iron Bowl. I want to just sit back and taste the hate - I want to consume that, along with many beers, while remaining an objective, dispassionate observer, as I don't have any ties or leanings towards either program.

Yeah, some of the writers are pretty good, but the plurality of the 11w commenters are garden variety trailer trash, with all due apologies to actual trailer park residents

This is pathetic. I understand that it's "hate week" or whatever, but this rivalry hasn't been meaningful in 15 years. Isn't it time to just get over it? Granted I'm relatively young (graduated from Michigan in 2011), and while I hate OSU, it's hard for me to get worked up about this game. I only know a couple of OSU fans and they are all decent human beings, we haven't bee competitive with them since 2006, and have won what 2 of the last 15 games or something? What's the point?

This statement will probably be negged to oblivion but it's just how I feel. It'd be like us scratching out all the P's the week before we played Purdue.

"gives us some level of respect and credibility"......... we lost to Rutgers and Maryland. When we deserve some respect then we can talk about this "rivalry" meaning something. Granted I'm young and many on this board may feel very differently from me, but Ohio State doesn't evoke any emotion from me. It's simply another loss on the schedule. I am very aware and respect the history our two programs have had, but times change and we are a shell of the program we used to be. The "rivalry" doesn't mean 1/10 of what it used to be unfortunately.

I appreciate the respect from the past but this game hasn't been what it was since 2006 and it is us (Michigan) who are stinking up the place including the Big Ten. Saturday is going to be like going in for a colonoscopy or a root canal. No joy in a coming epic clash.
