Orange Bowl open thread
You know, when the game was announced, I was kinda "meh". But now that I'm home and ready to watch it, I'm kinda getting excited. The contrasting styles intrigue me, another Big Ten team, to see how they'll do, and the celebration that is the LAST BCS bowl game on FOX. Yay!
And it can't be worth than last night's game, can it?
If nothing else maybe we'll get more Taco Bell commercials...
(Though Iowa and GT will have a hard time topping TCU's cheer team).

sort of surprised daniel murray didn't roll out and fake the PAT what with his 4.29 speed and what not

I know it's just the difference between a slim GT chance and ZERO GT chance, but there's still a small Iowa advantage to going down.

This would only be complete if Iowa started chanting "BIG TEN BIG TEN BIG TEN" like a bunch of rednecks... Oh wait, thats what SEC fans do.

Nicely played, my friend, Nicely played.

I can't wait for Al Davis to draft Josh Nesbitt as the future of the Raiders.

This game wasn't nearly as close as the score. Even with the requiste Stanzi TAINT.

MVP for the game?
I got either Moeaki or Bulaga
January 5th, 2010 at 11:49 PM ^
It's Clayborne. GT is running their offense a whole lot easier if they don't have to deal with that man-beast.
January 5th, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
It would be a crime if Claiborne doesn't get it, on the levels of Percy Harvin not getting the National Championship MVP last year.

helluva season for the hawkeyes.

Longest thread in (non-Haloscan) MGoBlog history?

But I'm sure the September Marching Band fight was longer. That went for like a hundred pages, no? :-)

That should make 3 Big Ten teams in the AP top 10 this year.
Congrats to Iowa.

Goodbye Denise. Maybe you'll come visit us over on ABC.

Big Ten 2-0 in BCS games, 4-3 in all bowls (losing by a combined total of 14 points in the three losses), victories over the SEC, ACC and Pac-10. Overall, not too shabby.
January 5th, 2010 at 11:48 PM ^
If not for the slacker Spartans getting "blow out". ;-)
And over ACC & PAC10 champs.

I can't wait to hear what Gary Danielson has to say this offseason. Actually, to be honest, I hope I never have to hear from Gary ever again.

Sign me up for that opportunity, as well.

I have hopes for the Horns. Not very realistic hopes, but hey, a man can dream.

2/9 for 13 yards and a pick wow just wow, I hope ND starts scheduling ACC teams
January 5th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
I hope the Sun Belt starts scheduling the ACC. Sounds like an evenly matched game.

Ahh, well. Dieter Christine would be hot as a Bowl Exec, but she's no Denise.

J Lehman may have loved America through neckware, but Ricki Stanzi misunderstands a ridiculous Chris Meyers question and proves that he loves America even more than the mulleted patriot.
Meyers:
Do you feel you are representing more than your school and your conference, but that you are also representing America?
Stanzi:
Of course, America is the greatest. Love it or leave it baby (flexing his bicep).
Priceless.

I'm sad I switched away to Family Guy, but that image is just fantastic. Thank you.
January 6th, 2010 at 12:02 AM ^
Stanzi heard it as America, I would guess.
January 5th, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
Congrats Iowa, I do love seeing a good beat down of a southern team by the big ten, especially when it makes them look like a fraud of a team.
January 5th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
No Gerhart on that player of the year vote= fail.
January 5th, 2010 at 11:58 PM ^
Can't get enough of the highlights of Utah beating Saban and Alabama. That was rich.
