Ohio State - Oklahoma: Does anyone on this board pull for the Buckeyes?

Submitted by KennyHiggins on

I'm sure there will be a few that say that this early in the season all B1G victories against Top 10 opponents are positive for CFP positioning in November.  Not once in 50+ years have I ever pulled for OSU.  That won't change Saturday.  Love to see them fail, lose some recruiting battles, have some RB controversies, etc.

I just hate watching Ohio State play.  Maybe it will change with Wilson as the OC, but their games usually feel like sludge-farts to me.  I guess if they win it is good for conference rep, so......yeah, maybe, no -  I don't care.

Fuck No. I'd pull for ISIS over them.

Also people need to understand they are our biggest competitior for almost every top recruit. Their performance necessarily impacts our recruiting.

I usually like to play as highly ranked opponents as possible, but watching Urbz's tears and that miserable fanbase eat itself alive is always enjoyable. Fuck him and Fuck OSU.

but they will win. I think they will wear down Oklahoma in the 2nd half. I don't think Baker Mayfield has the goods against top 10 teams.

1) I want them to remain undefeated so that we can crush their season on our way to going undefeated

2) I want them to lose every single game

Although option 1 seems like the perfect scenario, I'd also like to see them lay an egg like they did against Clemson.

I feel the same way. Winning in 2011 was unsatisfying because OSU wasn't very good. Their season has already been ruined by several other teams. I'll certainly enjoy it when they lose games, but being the sole and personal spoiler of their season while sending ourselves to the CCG/Playoff (much like they did to us last year) is probably ultimately better than beating a previously 2-9 team.

At the same time I'm going to root against them every single game.

I used to be a "root for the Big Ten" guy. And then the game happened in November with the Big Ten's incompetance in assigning honest officials. Now I'm strictly a "root only for Michigan" guy. Screw the Big Ten.

Fuck them, fuck the B1G.

We win the B1G, we go to the playoff, everything else is irrelevant so let OSU, MSU, PSU and all the others get destroyed.

Wisky for some reason doesn't bother me as much.

Wasn't it just two years ago when Michigan needed OSU to beat MSU to have a shot at the Big Ten Championship? I remember people saying on this Blog that true Michigan fans were rooting for OSU that day. I was appalled at that sentiment. Thankfully MSU won that day. I cannot envision any realistic scenario in which I can possibly root for OSU.

My wife is a Buckeye at heart so I am obligated to cheer for them when they aren't playing Michigan.  She returns the favor. It keeps things civil at home.

As others have said, I'd love for Michigan to play (and beat) OSU if OSU is undefeated. Now, I don't think I"ll be actively pulling for OSU to win, and if they lose, I won't be mad.

1) Michigan

2) Anybody playing Ohio State

Maybe if we beat them 12 of the next 14 years I will start to root for them to make The Game more meaningful, but until then I wish pain upon them.

Well now that the tiebreakers in the divisions include out of conference results (if 3 teams are tied and only losses to each other in conference) I will always root for every other team in the east to lose OOC regardless of rivalries.
