OH WR Devin Smith to OSU
shocker
Not really much of a surprise.
While I liked the idea of reinforcing/creating a pipeline at Massilon, It didn't seem like the staff was seriously looking at him for that last outside WR spot in our class.
Hopefully OSU will continue to fill their class with players we're no overly interested in...
EDIT: I'm not sure the Doran Grant this is that big of deal anyhow. It seems like we're on the outside looking up with him too. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong
I'm almost positive that Smith is Doran Grant's cousin, too. You'd have to imagine that helps them with Grant, if they aren't already the team to beat.
If Ohio State gets Grant, I'll be pretty worried. They already have Jeremy Cash in this class, and Christian Bryant in the 2010 class. Corey Brown, Dominic Clarke, and Jamie Wood in the 2009 class.
That's not good.
I also believe i seen on Doran's facebook that Curtis Grant (the LB out of Virginia and the #8 overall player based on Rivals) commented on Doran's page calling him cuz.....Tom do you know if these 2 are cousins? If so, is there a chance that could help us? Arent we up top for the recruitement of Curtis Grant?
It's crazy that OSU already has 15 guys committed. How many more are they looking to take this year?
By the looks of OSU and Penn State's recruiting I think they wagered each schools 2010 scholarships on their game last year.
"It's crazy that OSU already has 15 guys committed. How many more are they looking to take this year?"
(ed) 7 more, 22 total - possibly more depending on transfers/early departures.
edit: Oh well, things will be better when NCAAF 11 officially releases and when Dee Hart and others Go Blue after MSU game
But why will you be "pretty worried"?
We have an awesome recieving core as is. They will all be getting better too. If Forcier gets better along with that, we should be good to go. We only lost to OSU by 11 last year. If Forcier gets better, and our recieving core, and maybe we have a halfway decent secondary, i see no reason why cant challenge OSU down to the last min this year.
