Nice, surprised they are only doing 2. Maybe they will have a 3rd be the game captain?

Also, no need for that suspense OP. Just put it in the title.

First time since 2006 Michigan has had offense-defense captains. They were Jake Long and LaMarr Woodley.

Great picks. Obviously I thought they'd be locks for sure. I'm glad the traditional two-captain format is back.

Hard to think two more deserving guys for the honor.  BTW.....we were on Middle Bass Island about a month ago (next to Put-in-Bay) here in Northern Ohio and my wife and son were both sporting Michigan gear (oddly enough I was not) when a man came up to them at the General Store and asked "are you guys Michigan fans?"  When we all said YES he said "my nephew is Jordan Kovacs....if you give me your address I'll have him autograph a picture for you.".  Sure enough about three days ago a pic of Jordan laying out the Western Michigan QB arrives in the mail with a "Best wishes to Tommy (my son's name) from Jordan.  GO BLUE!" written across the bottom in silver ink.

I was having a hard time figuring out who the third captain would be....I guess that's with good reason.

I was thinking Roh, Roundtree or Campbell, with one of the senior interior lineman as a darkhorse.

In addition to the positional diversity, I like the racial diversity.  It's a refreshing change from that racist John Beilein, who, if you'll recall, hated white people in 2007-08 (captain: Ron Coleman) and 2008-09 (captains: Merritt & Lee), hated all people in 2009-10 (Harris, Sims, and Novak), and hated black people in 2010-11 and 2011-12 (Novak & Douglass).  I haven't heard anything for 2012-13, but something tells me that he hates white people again.  Stupid racist.

[Note: This is a reference to some particularly dumb comments from some particularly dumb people who saw two white captains on the 2011-12 poster.]

Every captain earns the honor, but these two young men have been particularly special. The last time we had a quarterback captain ... Tom Brady? He beat 'Bama! The last time we had a safety ... Crowin Brown, maybe? I am sure someone out there can give the history lesson. One week !!!!! Go Blue!!!!

To finish up that last edit, James Whitley was another hybrid DB who captained the 2000 team, and Corwin Brown was the last before that in 1992. Wow, there is definitely a history of issues off the field there.

Also, Bentley doesn't list Tripp Welborne as a captain. The two they list for 1990 are Jarrod Bunch and John Milligan.

Everyone is missing the horrible and most important point here...  We now have an entire one to 12 weeks of reporters asking Jordan if he ever thought he'd become a Michigan captain when he walked on 4 years ago.  Kill me now.
