Supposedly, 3 starters, 1 backup

again, rumor, but "Hearing Moore (backup LB), Ishaq (starting DE), Daniels (starting wideout), and Russell (starting CB)... FWIW"

UPDATE

Leading story is a female tutor doing players' homework in exchange for....services.  If true, players will likely be expelled.  Also potential for vacating 2012 "Return to glory" version 5.0 season.

UPDATE #2

The four alleged players were not seen at ND practice today, which is the first official reporting suggesting some truth the rumors.

Now that's a new twist on things: they were having sex with her while she was doing their homework?

That's really boning up on your studies.

"What I don't know/understand is how this crap broke when it did and how it did and why we can't just insulate/protect our football players like other schools. We are literally the only school in the history of CFB that goes after their own players for academic misconduct if they'd be otherwise eligible.

I'm just hoping against hope that there is some miscommunication here and it isn't as bad as it seems. If it is, this season is done and I bet Kelly is taking the first ticket out of town.[/

Just post the names

Wow.  Just wow.  No concern that players might be cheating or trading for sexual favors, only that they couldn't keep it quiet.

New rumor with photo evidence; apparently, the tutor wrote papers in exchange for being taught proper d-line technique.

Everyone loves an ND scandal (especially one that doesn't seem to have any real victims). But given that the last year has brought us the Gibbons mess and the York assault, maybe we shouldn't get too high and mighty about ND. Just saying.

Serious question for those who play Vegas ... do they suspend the lines for all ND games at this point or can you go out in the next 15 minutes and put money against them and if this comes true the odds swing strongly in your favor?

One year after Notre Dame football lost its starting QB, Everett Golson, for the 2013 season after he was caught cheating on an exam, the Fighting Irish team is dealing with the repercussions from more academic fraud.

This time, four starters have been dismissed from ND after the school conducted an internal investigation this summer, sources close to the program told FOX Sports.

It is unclear at this time if the four players will be able allowed to return to the school in the future as Golson has after he sat out the entire fall semester. He returned to South Bend last winter and has won his old starting QB job.

The Irish, ranked No. 17 in the preseason coaches poll, open the year Aug. 30 against Rice.

My question is where does Kelly head off to at the end of the year, fired or of his own accord..

Just an FYI, Russell will be the biggest hit.  He was projected starting CB and an NFL type talent.  Ishaq has been hugely disappointing in his time here.  Daniels would have been a contributor but there is enough WRs to go around.  And Moore was on the scout team last I heard.  Ishaq hurts for depth more than anything.
