Offering 2 Indoor Club Seats to MSU game at no charge

Submitted by IUandUofM on October 18th, 2012 at 8:47 PM

I'd like to make available (at no charge) two indoor club seats (front row against the glass) to a Michigan fan and guest that would otherwise not be able to attend the game.  Those attending will be my guests.

My intent is to grant someone a special game experience that might help them through a tough time or situation.

Requirements:

- Both must be Michigan fans

- Both are expected to act with class while in their seats and in the club

Disclaimer: I'll deliver the tickets to the guests prior to the game at the club entrance and reserve the right to withhold delivery if I think I was taken advantage of in any way.  Not to mention, myself or my other guests will be sitting next to those in these seats.  I will not discuss your story with any of my guests (again for privacy).

Please post an argument for the seats here, or email me at [email protected].  Only post if you are certain those proposed can attend.  Please leave an email that I can respond to if selected.  If I don't receive a confirmation back in a reasonable amount of time, I will move on to another selection.  I will post here when the decision has been made, but won't make public the selection details (for privacy).  I will decide by 7pm tomorrow night at the latest.

Go Blue!

The OP is being very generous and I'm sure there's thousands of kids, underpriveledged, disabled, veterans, etc that would love to go but wouldn't have any opportunity to go otherwise. So the OP is being generous enough without also figuring out all the logistics on their own. So if you MGOPoster is a mentor to a Mott kid or anyone else that you think should go then write the OP and hope you get picked.

Please people, don't be dirty here. I'm not going, don't have tickets/can't find them, my kid wants to go, but I wouldn't even consider trying to cross that line...

I would love to take your tickets but I'll already be there. My brother and I are life long Michigan fans from Illinois and this will be our first game at The Big House. We couldn't be more excited. I am pretty sure we'll both tear up once we finally get inside. Can't wait to be apart of it. Go Blue!

I know a certain friendly neighborhood MGoMod here, who hasn't made it to any games this year for the first time in about a dozen years.

He could find a good home for them.

/Hopes he hasn't deleted any threads from this particular individual.

I vote for children from Mott's. I work at Cincinnat Children's so everyday I see the terrible hands some children are dealt. Make two children's lives or a child's and his/her parent's. Vets are a good idea too but I bet they would rather see children go.

Motts kid would be awesome. I have always wanted to get four tickets and give two away every game but can't afford even two at this point in life. Awesome idea, very cool indeed.

at U of M is usually gearing up for their annual Tag Days and they choose a child treated at Mott to be the poster child for the event. If you contact them, they may already have chosen the child and I'd nominate whomever they picked.

My pet goat Dantrel and I love Michigan football.  The goat isn't house broke but doesn't cuss much either.  I on the other hand am house broke and I cuss ALOT.  So if you average us togother we are perfect guests.  I have to tell you the goat smokes and I just can't get him to understand smoking law, but it is only weed.  He says that cigarettes will kill you.  He is also a little condescending.  No matter what your idea is he just goes," baaaah" like he has something better.

while the Mott sentiment is nice, you guys are kinda laying it on to the point that the OP will feel like a jackass if he DOESNT do this now.  There is a fair bit of responsibility that comes along with chaperoning sick children.

Maybe he just wants to take a fellow mgoblogger  so that he can discuss Michigan football at an advanced level and have someone else  to drink some beers with.  I mean, that would still be an amazingly charitable act by itself.

I actually sent an email, however you are more than welcome to disregard it and would agree... If possible giving a pair of Motts kids a chance to go would be a better choice.

What a great idea. I just decided to not list my two extra tickets on Stub Hub. Just called Mott and they were thrilled about the offer and said they could definitely put the extra tickets to good use.

That's exactly what I said to my wife when I told her about my plan for our two extra tickets. Yes, there's a lot of bickering and trolling. But, when you come down to it, we're all connected by our passion for maize and blue...and 99% of the people on here are bright, good-hearted, and well-meaning.

EDIT:  If anyone is interested, the person to contact at Mott to donate your tickets is Byron Myer in Community Relations.  734-764-1260.  Mods, I'm assuming it's OK to post his contact information?  If not, please remove.

If the Mott thing winds up happening I'd love to see a picture if that family is willing.  We'll give you all the points.  Also I just had an interesting thought.  It would be cool if for a game like UMass or that foolish fall break game there was a way to fill a whole section with Mott kids.  Maybe the university could put it as an option when buying tickets to donate that ticket and all the kids would be put in the same section and go on the field at half time or something.  I would donate my ticket if I still got season tickets.  I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.
