Odoms after INT #1

Submitted by OldManUfer on

What the hell was Odoms doing after the first interception? He was just running down the field in front of the defender. He's the team's leading receiver and he looked like a damn lead blocker.

Grr...hopefully we won't be subjected to more of these Sheridan specials. I feel a little bad for the kid, but he's clearly not the answer at QB. Threet, despite his alarming tendency to fumble, is much more efficient. Yeah, I know - preaching to the choir.

Minor's hands were on that...he should've caught it, he bobbled it, therefore it was Minor's fumble. I'll blame a bad handoff on a QB most of the time and sometimes a botched snap on a QB, but a pass that is bobbled and dropped is all on the receiver. If you want to run with the ball before you catch it, that's not the QB's fault. Not to mention, the pass really wasn't that difficult.

but it should have been more catchable instead of behind him. More importantly, if Threet threw it in front of him, it falls incomplete rather than giving ND fantastic field position. Again, this one is more of a matter of opinion.

I'm more worried about the fact that, not including the lateral, Threet has fumbled at least three times in the first three games. It's a habit that really needs to be nipped in the bud now.

Basically, two fumbles in a monsoon is forgiveable, especially b/c he recovered one of them. He's a freshman and he's playing exceptionally well given the circumstances.

The swing pass always scares the hell out of me, for just that reason.  I was hoping that now that we are running out of the shotgun, we have a better angle to ensure that the swing would always be a forward pass.

I'm not going to get on Threet.  He is in his third collegiate game and he makes very good decisions.  I only counted two times where he threw the ball to the wrong receiver -- the 4th down where Butler was open over the middle but he threw to Odoms (?) down field on the right side and one pass down the side line that was to a very covered receiver.  Otherwise, great decision making.  Amazing for a freshman QB in a rather cmplicated offense.
