O'Korn will coach @ Manning Passing Academy

Transfer John O'Korn will be one of the college coaches at the Manning Passing Academy.  I believe Gardner has coached there in the past. (Manziel also before getting the boot)

It is capped at 1200 campers(grade 8-12) w/ about 50 college coaches.

Hackenberg, Boykin, Kessler, Knight and Prescott are some of the other coaches.  Didn't see anyone from the 3 headed monster representing OSU.

Looking at their film, style and maturity levels the following are my U-M Starting QB Predictions. It is going to take at least 2 years in the system for a high schooler to grow into Harbaugh's offense. Physically, Gentry is the next closest to that guy after O'Korn. Peters will need to thicken up quite a bit take repeated B1G type hits. 2015 - Jake Rudock 2016 - John O'Korn 2017 - John O'Korn 2018 - Zach Gentry 2019 - Zach Gentry/Brandon Peters (QB battle galore) 2020 - Brandon Peters ... late bloomer, kind of like Brady. In these three years are where we win two B1Gs and one National title. I think much of the 2016 OL class will redshirt as well and be killer in their 4th and 5th years if they all stay healthy and together. We have a couple of years to find the right WRs and RBs for this time period. But QBs and OLs need time to develop, like fine wine ... and they can't be uncorked too soon and get bruised before their time. 2015 depth chart -------------------- Rudock Morris Malzone Gentry - redshirt 2016 depth chart -------------------- O'Korn Gentry Morris/Malzone Peters - redshirt 2017 depth chart -------------------- O'Korn Gentry Peters Newbie TBD - redshirt

This is also all pre-camp. Harbaugh has 4 weeks to mold the team and prepare for Utah. If he wins that game belief builds and he can easily get to 9 wins. Saban went 7-6 in year 1 at Bama and 8-4 in year 1 at LSU. We are going to be just fine, I don't put a ton of weight on team mentality reports before fall camp, that's where the great majority of a team's chemistry and attitude are formed.

How would anyone know how 'hungry' these guys are? They haven't won jack and few have stepped up to show any real leadership or toughness.

And I honestly don't think they have any idea who they are playing for nor the expectations that come with playing for Jim Harbaugh. They are about to find out..but there isn't a ton of time for a mentality re-set.

He is going to have to literally break some people to get this turned around...so I expect it to be real ugly before the light comes on. But when it does...all bets are off. What I hope for is that the team starts to respond more and more throughout the season leading to an epic upset in The Game.

OK..that's ONE...and he hasn't show it on the field yet. As for guys that have shown toughness on the field of play...the list is way too short. Its subjective, but Harbaugh is and always has been about challenging for championships and this team is not even in the same ballpark as any of the teams I grew up watching challenge for the conference championship year in and year out. Growing up every year at this time there was at least one pre-season All American candidate on the roster and several pre-season ALL Conference candidates..this year pfft...

Spring was also 4 weeks...well close (15 practices).   So if Harbaugh didnt break the culture in spring I am not sure what would be different if those same 3-4 weeks are in August rather than March.

I have no idea if what Salv is saying is true but if so I wouldnt expect a sea change if this has been said anytime recently when the staff had a month of on hands time and 6 months of their S&C coach to break bad habits.

Maybe it changes by October or November but being a coach at a whole diff level I truly think a lot of people are just self motivated...or not.  You can help people but you dont change them 180 degrees.  So that is part and parcel of the recruiting process.  I think certain NFL franchises emphasize this self motivation a lot more than others who look more at the pure athlete.

Again I dont know if its true but if it is, its another issue for the year.  The other is the lack of NFL talent in the upperclassmen classes.  That will be an issue against a few teams....but a lot of teams on our schedule will similarly lack NFL talent.  So it wont be an excuse for 2/3rds of the schedule.  But the other 1/3rd if your team is not highly self motivated and lacks NFL talent - its an issue.  Will over skill (to a degree) and all that.

Like others have said above - I trust Harbaugh is changing this in the intermediate term and will be a lot more impactful (i.e. frighten) the 2014s and 2015s but I'd imagine a lot of older guys are set in their ways to a degree.

That's the big difference from spring practices. Playing time is the coaches' biggest tool to motivate players. We should expect to see some surprises on the depth chart, including more freshmen than projected here.

Never talk about this kid but like the above posters I also think he starts next year. Kid can spin it!

Why pick favorites.  Because of the long hair and cool workout videos?  Brady was boring, Henson was sexy.  Griese was boring on the field and we won a NC - Denard was exciting and we had a lot of mediocre teams.

All you should care about is who does the best, wins the job.  The name on the front of the jersey matters - not the back.

By the  way from all the elite 11 talk it sounds like Peters is the most athletic QB at that camp which is a surprise considering he is "pro style" and a few QBs there are highly rated "dual threat" types.  He sounds like O'Korn in that regard in terms of how he can be used.

Gardner coached kids on passing? I am so pissed Hoke didn't keep him at receiver. I get we didn't have a good QB, but anything different couldn't have hurt the program.
