Northwestern at Michigan

Northwestern vs Michigan.

Michigan is a 3-point favorite.

A 3-7 team is favored to beat a 7-3 team.

You dont see things like that too often......as Corso says, someone knows something!

Any early thoughts on this game?

On one hand, we can easily do to NW what we did against Minnesota.....on the other hand, we can just as easily revert to past form.

Lets hear everyone's early breakdown on the final home game of the season.

It's Senior Day. Sutton out. Bacher out or limited. NW looked suspect against OSU. So yeah, I think M wins it.
But shit, this whole season has been a head-scratcher so I guess we'll find out on Saturday. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

Just three days ago I would have never imagined we could win this game but suddenly, it seems possible. OSU doesn't have much of an offense but they really blew them out. Unfortunately, they got a lot of mileage out of the deep ball and I don't see us cashing in on those.

to who is playing QB for NW. If Kafka plays Michigan loses, based solely on the fact that he is a mobile QB.

But for serious analysis:

Northwestern started out strong against OSU but as the game went on they got worse and worse and worse, I believe at one point they allowed Todd Boeckman to be involved on a scoring drive. To me it seemed pretty evident that NW did not have the talent to hang with OSU for 4 quarters.
Michigan has more talent and better coaching so they should be able to get a win.

Northwestern got smoked by OSU and MSU who are the only good teams they played. http://nusports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/sched/nw-m-footbl-sched.html
Their wins have come from mostly a bunch of tomato cans, I like Michigan's chances in this one.

Sorry - about the lack of paragraphs but they won't appear.

the game against toledo? or how bout the game against illinois? purdue? i think the u of m football team tries to defy whatever people say about them...like if we're SUPPOSED to win they're gonna be like "fuck what they say, lets lose"

Sheridan wasn't superman. He played within himself and he can replicate that again against a weaker defense. If it's Threet, they put up 42 with him at the helm the week before.

This team is turning the corner. The offense is starting to really come around and so is the defense. They played Nickel with their DBs in tight coverage most of that game and will do so again against NW. I like that matchup to favor us again. This team never gave up on RR, like many of you did, and their "statement" will be to ignore the negativity and finish strong.

Vegas lines have meant next to nothing with this team this year. So for once, I'm ignoring what they post.

I hate the comparison, but a win at tUoOS will ease some of the stinging this year much like the Florida win took some of the funk away from last season.

I prefer a kid that cannot throw versus a multi year starter who can pick a part our poor linebacker and db coverage. Kafka would be the only threat running and he is no juice williams or even justil siller with his feet, he can get some yardage yes but doing that all game is tough.

Now a qb who can pick apart a D, well Toledo and Miami did that ease, what would Bacher do?

That's misleading. Northwestern is currently missing the two guys (Bacher and Sutton) who are most responsible for those seven wins. This is like us last year without Henne and Hart.
