No Talent

Submitted by Smitty D on
We can't stop anyone on D because of lack of talent on that side of the ball. So say rich needs to get fired or whatever the hell every one else wants to say but YOU COULD FREAKING BRING BO BACK FROM THE DEAD FIELDING YOST BEAR BRYANT and everyother freaking great coach and they couldn't do shit with this TALENT LESS DEFENSE. BYE iam done now my frustrations have come full circle

i bet before last year's mich vs. purdue game they were saying they have no qb talent. that's until a qb from our own backyard lit us the fuck up. we are an embarrassment on both sides of the ball. time to realize the players and the coaches suck. i'll root for us every weekend like i have since i started watchin college football. save the naive faith in rich rod and mich ftball. if i could get brian kelly i'd do it in a heartbeat to save our program. however, we're committed to rich rod for at least two more seasons and may turn this thing around. for now though, it's completely unbearable to watch.

Yeah...Illinois has 25 pts better talent than Michigan, 2 years in a row...and Purdue has better talent than Michigan 2 years in a row.... etc etc etc etc. It is not an issue of talent. It is an issue of the talent being developed and coached-up. This is clear as crystal.

The 2010 recruiting class isn't even in the top 15 either. and if you say "well stars don't matter", uh yeah sometimes they do. I'd be willing to bet that 5-star corners are more talented than 3 stars and will also play better in college 90% of the time. He better get more 4-5 stars or his ass is grass.

In times of deep sorrow it is a good idea to take a step back (not literal) and focus on the most minute items that still bring joy. Tree had an outstanding game. Minor ran for 3(!!!) touchdowns. Most of all, enjoy the growth of these young men. If watching Michigan Football isn't fun for you anymore then I can't help you. Try to find the joy that made you love them in the first place. They don't win every game.

This is the current depth chart for cornerbacks: Donovan Warren, Troy Woolfolk, JT Floyd, Teric Jones. THAT IS IT. This is the current depth chart for safeties: Michael Williams, Jordan Kovacs, Vladimir Emilien, Jared Van Slyke. THAT IS IT. TELL ME HOW ANYONE WINS WITH THAT SECONDARY.

Don't you get it! RR is terrible and he's the worst coach in the world and should be fired right now! His scheme is terrible and his offense is NOT innovative! We only scored 36 points! What's up with that I expected a point a minute! This is terrible Les Miles, Brian Kelly hell even Mark Dantonio would make that secondary into All-Americans! (Adjust sarcasm meters to full)

Our defense looks like a bunch of monkeys fuckin a football. Horrid assignments. Mouton attacking a play fake on the other side of the feild, Kovacs not understanding he has no deep help, 15 yards cushions on a 3rd and 3 by the corners, D-ends getting hooked, our linebackers not understanding that they have to cover sometimes, etc, etc, etc... We need to pull EVERY offensive scholarship offer off the table (except 1) for next year. And get every defensive man who wants to start next year. This team overachieves at underachieving.

Neg me to oblivion, but I think blaming our woes on the playing ability of our players, college kids, is low class. If you make it to this level, chances are you are talented. There is no doubt our players are talented. It's easy to blame the kids out there - who plays can be changed so easily. They are much more changeable, transient than our coaches. We are stuck with our coaches. So blame the players. Its both, but I would put much more of the blame on the coaches - especially at this level.

Read this http://mgoblog.com/diaries/decimated-defense-part-ii-statisticating We aren't per-say blaming the players on the team. We are blaming the ATTRITION of the team over the past few years that no other team in the country probably has had. We have worse attrition than ALABAMA and they were TRYING to lose players. HOW HARD IS THIS TO FUCKING GRASP?

Some of you need to take a break from posting. Go walk your dog. Go out drinking. Go out for a nice dinner. Hit the gym. Have sex with your girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/hand's palm.

Here's the thing. On defense (where most of our problems are), it really only takes one or two of the eleven guys to make a bad play on any given snap for it all to fall apart. The other 9-10 can do exactly what they're supposed to, and it may not matter. You only need to have a couple of players who aren't good for your defense to be mediocre, because opposing offenses will target them again and again. Take Purdue's first TD. Most of our guys appeared to fulfill their responsibilities perfectly well, but Mouton completely blew his coverage, and it resulted in a wide-open Purdue player for a TD. In our case, the weak links are the safeties and inside linebackers. You can't scheme away problems at those positions. And unfortunately, our weaknesses there mask the fact that elsewhere on the D, we've actually gotten decent play. The entire defense isn't terrible; just a few positions are. But those few are so poor that they drag the whole unit down.

you have give the coaches and players a pass this year. they are a young team all over the place. sadly the only place i see improvement is against our non big ten opponents.
