They didn't deserve it. I doubt if too many teams in the country shot any worse than we did over the entire season. You can make basketball as complicated as you want, but ultimately you have to be able to put the goddamn ball in the net. We've just sucked at that for three years, unfortunately for JB.

....Not Interested, Thanks! Ditto that it probably is best that UM end the season on the almost win against OSU. It's been a VERY BRUTAL year for Michigan. Here's hoping next school year brings good fortune to both bball and fball.

The NIT used to have the above .500 rule, but it was recently abolished (not sure on the year). HOWEVER, no team has been invited with a below .500 record in the tournament's couple of years since the rule change. Michigan after beating a top 5 team in OSU with a record of 16-17 (is they lost the next game) would have been a very interesting decision for the NIT selection committee.

No surprise with a sub-0.500 record. It is what it is and it's time for John Beilein to examine the deficiencies in this team, the returning strengths, and his strategy for the next season. Last season was great, and he can put together a good team again for next year. Time to move on!
