... it's just the lame forced opt-in of an email address and the mindless mouse-clicking.  It seems like instead of that, scratching out a check to the UM general scholarship fund would raise ten times the prize, with a guaranteed result.

I am assuming some propeller heads at PSU have found a way to game the contest.  I would have thought a Boilermaker computer engineer would do it.

If you do not want to participate, then don't. Just skip over the thread. The title is pretty clear what it is and you need not waste your time by clicking on it. Not to mention the time it takes to make fun of those of us who think it is worth the effort.

Also, notice the lack of "OT" in the title. That is because this thread is not off topic, unlike 75% of the threads on here. I hope you put as much effort into criticizing those threads that you did this one.

P.S. I assume you have already placed your $10,000 check in the mail.

... yes.  Much much more in single-purpose "scholarships" in the form of undergrad and grad tuition for the family.

The thread is fine; the participants in the contest are having fun. Most contests, like this one, are good for one entity--the promoter.   Beyond that, anything else I say here gets an even larger response, so I'll keep dry powder.

Click away, Go Blue, beat PSU.

Frickin' JoPa has given over $4 million  himself...

I would be the first to applaud and thank you if you did this. It just seems awfully easy to throw out a statement like this in a criticism of our efforts to raise $10,000, especially when you can walk away from your statement immediately after making it.
