NHL Central Scouting Release By-League Rankings (Compher USHL #1)

Submitted by lhglrkwg on

Wellll since I'm a little desparate for good news on the hockey front and I don't feel like sleeping right now I thought I'd throw this together. NHL Central Scouting released their 2013 rankings for each of the 4 North American Junior A Leagues (USHL, the Q, the O, and the W)

No Michigan recuits showed up in the CHL rankings but here's our guys in the USHL. I used Chris Heisenberg's spreadsheet to figure out the commitments of the USHL guys (didn't bother with CHL). I was pretty surprised that USHL guys have so consistently committed to colleges. Nice to see that from a NCAA vs OHL fight! perspective

Western College Hockey Blog (who sometimes frequents this blog) indicated that the top 6 USHL guys are considered possible 1st rounders which would put both Compher and Downing in that top round.

Edit: The link to the relase might be nice. LINK

Double Edit: Obviously there are no Michigan recruits in the CHL because they would be ineligible

Thanks for adding the commitments to this. Nice to see that being sidelined by an injury hasn't hurt Compher's draft stock. I'm excited about his potential, and also to see how he does once he returns to the lineup this weekend.

Surprised that Compher didn't drop since he has been off ice since his concussion. He is supposed to see his first game action after Thanksgiving. He is a good player and makes others around him better. Tyler Motte's production is down with Compher out. When Compher gets back Motte's goals and assists will increase...same goes for Allen.  I went to the Dubuque game to see Downing play but he didn't play that day. In any case, Michigan will still do well with this class from the USHL.

Don't have enough points to start a thread but figured I would pass along this information.  The NHLPA is putting on a Charity hockey game featuring a bunch of current Red Wings players and a handful of other NHLers in Windsor on December 8th at 630pm.  Tickets went on sale today if you use the presale code FACEOFF in the code box.  I'm going through hockey withdrawals and figured there are likely a few others in the area as well.  Tickets are like 40-50 each with fees.  You can find it if you google WFCU Centre and click the presale link.  I'd post the link I was emailed but I'm not sure if it is linked to my account or not.
