New Michigan Nike and Jordan shoes
The annual shoe releases.
The Nike shoe is not yet available. It will be at MDen a week from tonight on 8/13 and will be $110. It's Free Trainer 8
And here is the Jordan shoe that was released a couple weeks ago. MDen is sold out in pretty much every size but you can get these directly from Nike at Nike.com. They're the AJ Trainer 5 and they cost $125.
Oh, I'll pass. Very underwhelming.
Well, I wouldn't expect a Buckeye to buy them.
I have some ridiculous looking Michigan shoes...but man these are terrible.

They would look good on a toddler, maybe.
The top one looks like a dog toy for my puppy. ?
All shoes (and balls, socks, underwear, towels, stuff left outside neighbors' houses, household items) look like/are toys for my puppy

I'm gonna pass on both of those. Why can't Jordan make some thing as nice as these?

They did, two years ago. I got these last month from someone on the inside. Program-issued only. Wish they sold more "normal" looking shoes like these.

This is a curious comment after reading M gear (along with Cal and Marquette) mentioned in the post about UNC players selling shoes... and the user who claims Poole sells stuff on his IG... WD you better be clean!
Joking aside, I expect compliance to look into that guy calling us out. Plenty of ways to acquire them that don't involve player violations and I hope nothing turns up.
I used to get team issued gear from another Big Ten school by buying the equipment manager a case of beer. No need to involve the players and risk any violations.
My running shoes for a while were a pair of team-issue Adidas trainers, which were little more than a white Adidas stock shoe with maize and blue accents and a little Block M tab on the shoelaces. Got them through a family member who knew an assistant coach for a non-revenue sport back then. Honestly, they weren't anything special.
That being said, those were offered and given without being asked for. It was just a "hey, what's your shoe size?" and the next time they saw them, boom, box of shoes. Shaking people down for team gear strikes me as weird.
I wish the athletic department would do what Oregon does and basically have a surplus sale where they they sell all of their athletic gear from the previous season to fans discounted prices. Like they'd sell jerseys for $50 and shoes for $75. It would be great way for the department to make some extra money, get rid of surplus, and garner fan support and excitement. Like look how hype this looks. You can get shirts, jerseys, helmets, shoe PEs

They did that for years and years. Used to be the UM Club of Ann Arbor ran it (IIRC), it was in Cliff Keen the first few years I went. It was mostly practice gear, but lots of interesting things if you poked around. Then the Athletic Department took it over, had it in the Track and Tennis Building for a few years, then let it die during the RR era. It got to be kind of a fiasco. The hockey program still does theirs every spring, but that tends to be more hockey gear.
In short, it’s been done, and Athletics doesn’t seem keen on doing it again.

Last pair of Michigan shoes I bought (Nike V7 day zero) I got on Black Friday. I’ve worn them 3 time OSU, South Carolina, and the National Championship game. Of course Michigan lost all 3. Those mother fuckers are cursed, don’t buy them.

Burn them!

I like the AJ Trainer 5s.
Just bought a pair on Fanatics. If you have an Amex, check your Amex Offers, I had a $15 off $100 discount for Fanatics.

Gross. But as long as our athletes don’t sell theirs like UNC, whatevs.

I can already tell that these would look very unflattering on my feet.

Kind of dishonest by pricing the "free" shoes for $110, smh.

The Jordan 12s that dropped are still the best. Not wearing mine until September 1 and if we lose will never wear again.

Who tf thought splattering maize dots would look good? At least the AJ Trainer looks decent.

Not a fan. Save your money.
Man, our football players are in no danger of trying to resell these shoes in the secondary market. Those are just butt ugly. What about some classic Jordan 3's that are white and have slight maize and blue highlights!?
These are nice! Better than what they had before imo.
I like both pair. Different strokes. Some people still wear Chuck Taylor’s, no need to bitch and moan about other people’s tastes. Thanks WD!!!
These are great IMO.

It's almost as if they're trying to only release the worst stuff for the fans. I bought and love the Jordan 32's but most of the rest I've seen is just awful.

I hope the Arby's cups aren't this shitty

Sounds like someone wants some shoes but can’t fork over the $.
Or someone is disappointed in the entire Nike line so far. In fact based on most of the comments around here, it seems most people are generally disappointed with the switch so far.
The Michigan block "M" on the side is faded and full of holes. The Nike swoosh is big, bright and pristine.
Not a fan.
I have these and they are most comfortable and best looking Jordan’s made for public.

I love Michigan and our colors as much as the next guy, but they just don't work as the only colors in a shoe. Unless you're a Michigan athlete, these and all other team shoes look pretty tacky.

Those are pics of Kmart kids shoes, right?
Normally a fan of Nike shoes and apparel, but those are pretty bad. Jordan ones aren’t any better.
