I'm ok with the new banner
September 4th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
I think it's better than the old one.
September 4th, 2018 at 6:55 PM ^
If we need a new header, why not use one that is already kicking around somewhere in Ann Arbor and never really got the chance it deserved?
September 4th, 2018 at 3:47 PM ^
I like it so much better than the other banner. The only problem is that "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't activate that brand" plus the picture of a perplexed Harbaugh has the potential to be incredibly prescient and foreboding in an infinitely painful way.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
i think the perplexed look is directed at the blog comments.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
That's the thing. At least the old banner, which I wasn't a fan of, didn't have a feeling of loss and despair that this one emotes.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
Um.....you do realize the banner that's up right now has been up since the official MgoBlog 3.0 was launched right? The banner hasnt changed in months.
Now...I think it sucks balls and would love to see that fucking thing go right into the trash but MgoManagement loves the damn thing.
EDIT: Cleared cache and there it is. Sorry OP. You're right. Confused Harbaugh is < shitty new banner which was < old, old banner.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
lol I like it
Pretty sure that's not the banner Seth said they had commisioned, but it fits right now.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
I love it. Jimmy's the face of the program, and it's perfectly ambiguous.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
Well played, Brian.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:43 PM ^
Also have an ad for filipinocupid.com which has my attention.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:57 PM ^
What's wrong with it? It's fine.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:58 PM ^
It's very fitting for this week.
September 4th, 2018 at 3:59 PM ^
I look at it differently.
It's Jim Harbaugh's obvious response to the profusion of critical comments on this very blog.
Like "Just what the fuck do you guys want from me?"
September 4th, 2018 at 4:35 PM ^
If he could somehow shove Jake Long's brain into James Hudson's body, that would be great.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:03 PM ^
I’m on my cell. Will someone post a pic please? Thanks in advance
September 4th, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
Didn’t show up on my iPhone, iPad or desktop PC. Another 3.0 fail. It shouldn’t be so hard to be a customer of MGoBlog
September 4th, 2018 at 4:16 PM ^
FYI for those that can't see it, you may have to clear your cache first. Otherwise chrome will just pull in the cached image.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
ctrl (cmd on mac) + shift + R will do a hard refresh and should load it as well.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:31 PM ^
All I see is a blank blue horizontal bar supported by two giant, blank pillars of (used to be white) gray: Site rendering by Keystone Kops.
Edit to add: Caching disabled. Shift-refresh anyway, no change.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:34 PM ^
I like it. It says the name of the site, and it's not as tall which saves me like half a scroll when I want to get to the good stuff. I'd call that a win.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:35 PM ^
Meet the new banner. Same as the old banner.... We won't get fooled again!
(Sure, we will!)
September 4th, 2018 at 4:41 PM ^
Lol I had to clear my cache too. I had no idea what you guys were talking about. I love the design but the image of Harbaugh is kind of just weird. Maybe rotate in different players with a similar background treatment. The contrast of the MGOBLOG in the foreground and the stadium masked in blue in the background looks great.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:42 PM ^
Beat ND.
I mean WMU.
September 4th, 2018 at 4:50 PM ^
Get rid of it. The picture chosen is just wrong.
September 4th, 2018 at 5:33 PM ^
Don't give a shit about a banner.
Win some games.
September 4th, 2018 at 5:37 PM ^
Perfectly appropriate.
Not anger or manic intensity or steely will or "who's got it better than us" argle-bargle, but befuddlement on the part of our head coach.
September 4th, 2018 at 5:43 PM ^
I'm in favor. Reflects how we're all feeling right now.
Let's turn it into something more confident in the coming weeks!
September 4th, 2018 at 5:43 PM ^
Hopefully we rip off a big winning streak so we can pull out my proposed banner instead:

Not to S my own D but I made this one, which made it on the site for a spell 11 years ago!
September 4th, 2018 at 6:52 PM ^
Can you teach me this s your d business?
September 4th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
Here...I did one too:
September 4th, 2018 at 7:13 PM ^
Updated with a more UM-appropriate edit.
I hope WD doesn't get mad because I don't think I nailed the Pantone colors perfectly...but I'm really close.
September 4th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
I think I get it now. It's a picture of Harbaugh actually looking at the new banner.
I realized this when I saw my own reflection looking at it and I had the same expression on my face.
September 4th, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
How likely is it that they produced a bunch of banners and will change it every week depending on the outcome of the game? That would make sense that they waited until now to change it and that they commissioned it so early on. Much harder to make a bazillion options than one banner.
September 4th, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
I, for one, am superstitious enough to believe that this languishing of the program is completely tied to the 'can't activate that brand' quote. It is holding us back. Change the quote now so JH can activate his brand starting this Saturday. Desperate times call for desperate measures so unless Brian has an all-pro left tackle in his pocket - he must change that quote!!!
September 4th, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
Needs a tagline to go along with it.
"Chickens are nervous birds."
September 4th, 2018 at 8:39 PM ^
Brian might want to be wary of running afoul of the State of Michigan's common law right of publicity or the tort of appropriation. As MGoBlog is not using Harbaugh's likeness on the banner in the context of reporting news, but rather commercially exploiting Harbaugh's pecuniary interest in his likeness. While this is not legal advice, you might want to consider changing the banner to avoid any potential legal ramifications arising from the unauthorized use of his likeness for commercial purposes.

lets also not forget that keeping wildlife, um... an amphibious rodent, for... um, ya know domestic... within the city... that ain't legal either.
September 4th, 2018 at 8:46 PM ^
Perfect photo...
we should do a caption thread after game game.
"Two minute offense? We don't need no stinking two minute offense... oh wait"
