Need help buying tickets for MSU game

Submitted by Plegerize on

Alright guys, I need your help. So I got a woman who is actually excited to go to a football game with me, she said she wanted to learn more about the thing I love so much (Awesome right? I know).

So I wanted to get tickets for a game and since I want her to experience a good game (also I personally want to) I want to take her to the State game. Now I'm looking at tickets and prices and I see some good bargains, but I need some advice: Should I go for the higher priced tickets lower in the bowl or just snag the cheap tickets closer to the top?

Now having been to countless Michigan games I know there isn't a bad seat in the place, but for her I want to give her the best experience a poor college kid can provide. Also does anyone know of any good deals or anywhere to find moderately priced tickets? I have already checked the MgoBlog spreadsheet and there wasn't anything there for me.

My price range is anywhere from $0-$130. Thanks in advance friends!

The best I found was 2 tickets in Section 5 row 38.  I feel like besides rows A&B that being up in the 30's-50's is the best game day experience for newbies.

You can't get row A&B for that price so you should shoot for ones in the 30's and 50's.  Also how old are you?  If you're young and would like to be by energetic people you should get tickets by the students (sections 24-35)

Let's hope the tickets are close to, if not more than, face value. That means Michigan is winning. I don't think I can stand another game where there is a sea of Sparty green. That game in 2008 might have been the most miserable game I have ever been to at Michigan Stadium.

It is definately in my top 3 with The Horror and OSU 2009 (good thing I was hammared for this one).

If you want your lady friend to enjoy a good atmosphere, I agree with Jonny.  It should be pretty electric at the opening game against a solid opponent and for the rededication of the Big House.

Also, the X-Factor will be the weather.  In my experience, casual fans have a hard time sitting through a game when it's wet and/or cold.  I can't predict what it's going to be like in October but the way too early outlook for next Saturday looks pretty damn good.

In terms of "Gameday Experience," anywhere around the north end would be best. You're close to the student section and the band for that unique Michigan Stadium experience.

I have been buying and selling tickets for years. I do not recommend stub hub. They charge you outrageous shipping and service fees. I use craigslist and ebay. If you spend some time and are willing to travel then you can find some deals. I bought UM/MSU tickets in sec16 row 20s for $92 ea. My point is that there are deals out there you just need to look. Buy now though because once we start winning those prices are going to skyrocket!

I agree with everyone who said north endzone. I sat in row A for UM/OSU last year and it was the best game experience as far as seats are concerned. Good Luck and GO BLUE!

Definietely go with the North End, student section is rowdy, also give Ebay a go, if not just google "michigan tickets" and see if you cant find any good deals

I would recommend the good old scalpers, worst case you pay that $100 a ticket or whatever stubhub is. A good idea is to find a corner like the diag with scaplers all around. Talk to a few of them, then improve your position by telling them how much cheaper the other guys are.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was looking at the North Endzone and was wondering if that would be Ideal. I will now aim for that section.

Also I've been looking around Craigslist and Ebay but I will look harder now. Thanks once again everyone! :)
