That book is super lame. "The little Michigan fans walked past the Union. Some older Michigan fans said "Let's Go Blue!".

Barf.

I do like the bad caricature of Lloyd at the end though (and 21-0 score vs. OSU).

But it is one my 2 year old daughters favorite books, and it does help with the UM brainwashing.     Because of the book she knows that the Block M is "daddy's M" is pronounced "go blue" and every other m stands for Mommy.

Full disclosure--I have this book and read it to my daughter.

Have you seen children's books and programming? Most of the plot lines go something like:

1. "Let's go to _____"

2. 25 minutes of walking and meeting friendly people/animals.

3. Arrival

The Michigan children's book is part of a larger college series, so I'm sure they all follow the plot line above except MSU's. That one contains step-by-step instructions on how to avoid teargas by burning a couch.

My now two-year-old son loves that book. This book was very helpful in the indoctrination process. When we ride in the car he says Go, and I say Blue. Also, he thinks the name of Michigan State is "boo." When he sees my shirt from the Big Chill he always boos me b/c of the State logo on it and then yells, "M."

Haha it is important to note that these are, in fact, childrens' books.

I've seen another children's book where the Michigan fan and a Wolverine live together, so realism doesn't seem to be a major factor for these books.

While starting 2 first year qbs, 1 a true freshman, a first year head coach installing a new system, a brand new defensive staff installing their system, playing the hardest schedule in the country, while mourning a tragic campus accident, and battling back from multiple injuries at every skill position on the field.

I can think of a few things worse

Kelly told him to sit the rest of the game and he said I am going out there, he didn't have a concussion, and passed every test the medical staff gave him.

And when he went back out there, he did more than inject life into the offense he lead ND down the field for 3 scores to take the lead with 4 mins left in the game.  Despite UM scoring on their next drive he lead ND down the field again with 27 secs left in the game and one chance in the end-zone, but he air-mailed it and UM escaped.  It was the biggest win of the season for you guys, I thought it was big for UM.

Kelly should have put his foot down and told Crist that he shouldn't go back onto the field, especially if he was having trouble seeing.  The health and academic success of players is paramount.

As for the game's position in the grand scheme of things, a lot of the posters on Mgoblog were drinking the Kool-Aid before the 2010 season, and M-ND 2010 certainly had the appearance of a breakout performance, especially from Denard.  However, Michigan plays in the Big Ten conference, and wins and losses in the B1G carry more weight than OOC games.  I think Purdue turned out to be a fairly important win for Michigan in the grand scheme of things, especially since Michigan snapped that two-game losing streak vs. Danny Hope, and later poached that TX QB recruit away from the Boilermakers.  If I had to pick the "biggest win" of the season, the 3OT 67-65 win over the Illini would be up there as well, breaking another 2-year losing streak.  2009 M-ND was admittedly Michigan's biggest win of the year, especially with the way Michigan's season collapsed after Baby Seal U, but that was in the last year of the Weis era with a junior Jimmy Clausen, so yes, that would certainly qualify as a win over an irrelevant team :-) (joking smiley)

that ND has updated their  four horseman to Willingham (Conquested) , Davie (War with Holtz), Weis (Victory Famine) and Kelly (Death)?

*not sure Weis and famine should be used together, but whatever.
