ND boards are in meltdown mode . . .
I like to mosey on over there and enjoy the carnage.
They seem to feel that the refs screwed them and Wies is a big sack of poo.
I was impressed with the ND offense, the seem young on defense. Their OL is better than I thought, but not a top 15 line by any means.

I imagine a new billboard will be put up talking about his "intern" year

Anyone know what conference they were from?

Big east

No, I'm positive it was Big 10

ND's post game show said it was announced on the radio as Big East. Either way I am also very interested in their affiliation. Big east officials have screwed us out of games before.

At the beginning of the game, they said that the refs were from the Big 10. Did anybody else see this?
September 13th, 2009 at 12:23 AM ^
They were definitely Big Ten.

Lemonnier is a Big Ten ref, 15 year vet.

thanks for the clarification guys

I think the refs sucked both ways. I don't think they decided the game though.

...I just don't get why a big time receiver like that would put his body at risk and eventually injure himself catching passes that have no bearing on the game. Just stay on your feet, come to halt, and let the ball fall where it may out-of-bounds.
Floyd's injury may have cost ND the game, he may have put himself out for the season, and he may have altered the course of his career just for the sake of making one meaningless catch.

Disagree. You give it your all every play because you never know when that last inch will be what wins it for you. He wasn't more than a foot OOB. Once you let up, you don't get that edge back.

that is how u play football........ by laying it on the line every down

Floyd should have such good field awareness and body perception at this point in his career that he doesn't take on unnecessary risk.
I also thought it was interesting that Clausen let the 3 or 4 passes leading up to the Floyd injury drift out of bounds. That seems like too many in a row for a third year starter.
September 12th, 2009 at 9:31 PM ^
Floyd is only a sophomore.
September 12th, 2009 at 11:32 PM ^
I was clearly referring to Clausen, who is a junior.

"Floyd should have such good field awareness and body perception at this point in his career that he doesn't take on unnecessary risk."
Again, Floyd is a sophomore.

Floyd's injury did not cost ND this game, there were many key points in this game where ND could have put it away with sound execution, and each time UM out willed them.

I would be awfully surprised if those weren't Big Ten refs, since M was the home team.

The Irish boards are dodging around the quote by the Irish defender that call Michigan "stupid" to play true freshman QB's. That guy has just got to feel like an idiot.

doing his "I'm sitting on a cock" dance right in front of the ref.
