ND... Be careful what you wish for.

Does anyone see a chance of Tom Herman ending up at ND if Kelly and the Irish go belly up this year?  I really don't want to see him at one of our rivals.....hoping Texas or another school down there gets to him before OSU, ND or even PSU eventually come calling.

like any Blueblood program, ND is one great coaching hire from being a top 5 program. cfb is really a coaches game. I'm more convinced by that now more than ever after seeing what harbaugh's been able to do with the roster Hoke left him. just one year ago the consensus was Michigan is unathletic and lacking talent, and it will be a few years until harbaugh has the roster to contend. Fast forward to now and we are a top 5 team.

wholeheartedly with this. Still get all games televised, still have a huge alumni base, connections across the country with coaches, and still the lore of playing for ND. Think about it. Kids Harbaugh is recruiting now that are talking about it being a 'dream' to play for Michigan and have 'always liked' Michigan have pretty much had very little reason to do so on the field for the past 10 years until very recently. ND just needs to get the right hire - I just don't have any clue who that would be.

I think the ND job and the UM job are roughly comperable.  Both are historically great names, that are in states with limited D1 talent.  (My best guess is that Michigan produces more D1 talent than Indiana.  But neither are hot-beds, and UM has MSU in state.)

UM has a much better coach right now, but long term, I think the jobs are pretty comperable.
