ND... Be careful what you wish for.

Does anyone see a chance of Tom Herman ending up at ND if Kelly and the Irish go belly up this year?  I really don't want to see him at one of our rivals.....hoping Texas or another school down there gets to him before OSU, ND or even PSU eventually come calling.

I really think Herman will be LSUs coach next season. I don't know much about him, his personal "dream job" etc. but how do you turn down a job where a lot of the best talent is and no matter what the talent usually stays home. PLUS, LSU has recruited as good or better than Hoke did, he would start with a loaded roster.

If Herman leaves Houston it will be for LSU.

Houston is going to try really hard to keep him though, and they might just be able to pull it off, especially if they get into the Big 12.

necessarily looking for a job. Same with Texas or USC. Jimbo Fisher was interested in the LSU job when it looked like Miles was getting fired last season. He's their most obvious candidate along with Herman. I think Bobby Petrino would be a good fit for LSU, but I could see him wanting to return for one more year with Lamar Jackson.

won't have to gamble on a Purdue -level bottom-dweller job. Better programs than that will come calling and eliminate the Boilers from contention for Fleck's talents. Or Northwestern? Fitz is there for life if he wishes. I doubt that LSU, ND, or Texas would offer Fleck, though, without a couple years at a mid-level job. And ND, maybe never, as they might not want to take on his alleged "baggage".

They're not some random place just moving up to P5, (if it happens). That conjures up images of Rutgers or Cincinnati. They've already committed to paying him $5.5 million/year if it happens. I would expect them to sweeten the pot given the year he's having. They're already a top ten team whose recruiting will pick up. Herman has the chance to build something at Houston and he's well on his way. If he can win and get paid at Houston, the attraction of a bigger name program may not be there.

Also, is Tom Herman any different than Brian Kelly before Brian Kelly went to Notre Dame? As long as Harbaugh is our coach, we're going to be fine. The only coaches who are on his level are Saban (who's going to retire soon) and Urban.

...Massey projects them at 6-6 and only has them favored in two games the rest of the way. And they're 53rd at Fremeau, behind luminaries like Army. If ND had lost to Duke before the Texas game instead of after, nobody'd be talking about Texas winning nine games this year.

Any chance LSU tries to lure Petersen from Washington? With what he did at Boise and the improvement at Washington, he could right the ship immediately with the talent pool in Louisiana.

What are the chances Bobby Petrino gets another shot at a bigger school than louisville? I know Louisville is in the ACC but he probably will get a lot more resources in other schools and he's shown that he can coach with his work at Louisville (both stints) and Arkansas.
