Forget the religious or moral implications of this: what player is worth bad PR? Giving her name to the accuser is slimey, disgusting, and horrible-- and not nearly worth the price.

It's bad enough to be arrogant and dismissive with a sexual assault case; it reaches another level when you do so for the simple convenience of it.

This sounds like a bunch of nothing to me. The 2nd victim (allegedly) asked for the 1st victims (allegedly) anonymous support, and then thru the 1st victim under the bus by supplying her name to the Title IX coordinator. To much ambiguity in this story to believe the way it supposedly transpired.

again. But, if you don't know who accused you of sexual assault, how can you defend yourself against the charge?

I'm honestly torn on this. I have a daughter and a son.

From one end, as a father of a daughter,  I can see absolutely that you need to protect the victim. On the other hand, as a father of a son, I can see that if you are accused the right to know whom is accusing you might be key to your defense. Especially in an era where it seems that conscentual sex between two intoxicated persons can result in a sexual assault charge.

There appear to be no easy answers.

Fuck Notre Dame and anyone who loves them. The most overrated university in the country., most overrated CFP program in the country, and apparently fucking scum.

Remember, this is not the first time this kind of allegation has been made around Kelly and the program. Additionally, remember the kid who died under his watch. He should be gone yesterday.

I was going to struggle who to root for when they played msu. Now I hope nd losses every football game horribly for the next decade.

pretending they were in the middle of a period of stability--losing regularly as they did so--before getting rid of Kelly. Meanwhile Kelly was leaving a trail of festering slime, with real people getting hurt. Someone will now wake up and fire him, and although no one will care to, and when they do look back they will see they've suffered another expensive. . . humiliation.

I would wish such chaos on them forever, but--again--real people are getting hurt. Brian Kelly is toxic.

I know some people love the rivalry, but I am over it. I think that refusing to play them could help move them into the obscurity they deserve.

At this point I'm not sure why anyone would want the ND job.

Yeah, a marquis name.  But man, they're a mess.

They don't seem to be in the mix for talent like they used to be.  It's going to take something more than an up-and-coming MAC-type coach to turn that ship around.

But there aren't many of them out there ... and what few exist likely know better than to step into that tire fire.

I know it's just pure speculation at this point since Kelly still has his job. However, if he were to be fired, is there anyone existing on the current staff who isn't a slimeball that could be an interim for a year or so, à la Fickell at OSU? They could go that route in hopes of a bigger name a couple years down the road.

John would make for some really interesting storylines. Also, I wonder if Fitzgerald would leave NW and his alma mater for a ND gig. Although I think Dantonio would be a major win for them. Granted he doesnt have the experience of recruting against high academic standards, but his mentality and coaching style would be a perfect fit for them.

I can only find one person who played for / was enrolled at ND in 2015-2016, apparently didn't play last year, and "transferred to a Power Five football school with a clean record, where he is expected to play this fall"

I can imagine it'd make the transfer process difficult what with multple Title IX and sexual assault accusations hanging over that guys head.

rancid PR attacks on Rich Rod during key points in the season.  ND has a big game this week so the national media is paying attention, what better time to sling some mud around and tilt public opinion in the direction you want it to go.

Rich Rod deserved to be fired for being a bad football coach, as does Kelly.  But both seem to be getting the ol' heave ho in the same public humiliation way because they aren't liked by someone with big money.

Neither of the victims received any type of justice, and the accused gets away without the investigation completed to an unknowing school where more potential victims await. A total screw up by all administrators and investigators involved.
