NCAA 2010 - Xbox 360 Dynasty

Submitted by Rizzo on
So to counter our MGoPS3 users, I will be starting a 360 online dynasty. House rules are as follows: All-American difficulty AI sliders, penalties and other settings set to default 5 minute quarters 1 week to complete weekly game and recruiting As for teams, the 360 dynasty allows for 12 total players, so it would be great if we could choose from a limited number of conferences. That way we'd play each other as often as possible and avoid some guy with Florida running up scores against CPU opponents in the SEC while we scrum it out in some other conference (and no Big Ten teams, too many conflicts of interest). And with that, I'll start it off in the PAC10 and choose Oregon. First eleven responses with gamertags are in. And if you need the rosters, you can download them from my EA locker, gamertag "DC Rizz".

I think so (especially if you have an HDTV). From the standpoint of someone who has played prior versions, this is the best one yet. The animations, AI and dynasty modes are much improved. In fact, the AI is almost frustratingly too good. For n00bs, it will certainly take some getting used to, but it's still a great game, particularly if you are playing with other humans.

Okay, picked this up last week and played it for the first time a couple days ago. Wow. They really made our defense impenetrable. At least WMU and Notre Dame couldn't get through. Shut out WMU and overwhelmed ND 42-14. No deep threat lightning fast WR at UM though, so long bombs are rarely an option. I have to move my guys around and change up plays and routes to exploit holes for big plays. Usually it takes me a few games with a new version to get used to the different pace and feel. I generally make boneheaded mistakes in the first couple. This one definitely has a different feel from last years, but no learning curve. Tate Forcier ROCKS in this game. I simmed EMU because I knew the computer wouldn't give them a chance. Then went on to beat Indiana last night, 49-21. They actually gave me quite a bit of trouble in the first half before I pulled away in the third. I couldn't run on them at all and had to switch to a pass-happy offense. I have been playing with 6-minute quarters. I'll have to count the number of plays sometime and see if it matches up with a real game. I might need to drop it back down to 5-minute quarters to keep the play-count realistic. I don't use ANY of the new "assist" features, as I like to keep things as challenging as possible. Also, I find that if I just use the default plays I can hardly ever get anything done. So I generally read the defense. If they're pressing I might change up to a PA. If a WR is not being covered or is covered really close I might send him on a fly route . . . although none of the receivers on the current roster seem fast enough for that to work much. If they're in quarters or dime I might change to a straight run play. If they're loaded to one side I might send a man in motion to the less covered side of the field.

I'll jump in. Can I get Texas Tech? The Big12 needs some representation. If you want to limit conferences, I can take Ole Miss. GT: Paul VBlue

Road to Glory is frustrating as hell. The CPU coach always picks the worst plays and unless you're a QB you have no say in the matter. I usually play as a RB and the only way to win the game is by ripping off 70-yard runs every other possession.

I'll do it if there are spots left. GT - Checkmate120 Team - Oklahoma State One cavaet. One of my dogs ate my microphone, and I'm too lazy to replace it. So there won't be any voice with me. If that's a dealbreaker, it's cool. No hard feelings.

Should we wait until the patch comes out that fixes the online dynasty accelerators...I personally do not want to pay the money for them but if someone buys them it's kind of unfair. Just my 2 cents though I will still play regardless.

I don't know why anyone would waste 12 bucks on that nonsense, but you have a good point. The message boards appear to be conflicted, some saying the patch has already been implemented, others saying almost there. If the latter is true, something will be available in the next couple of weeks and our Xboxes will update automatically. Regardless, I think we can go ahead and trust people to not use the accelerators if they have'em. Just like I would hope people don't use cheap tactics like putting speed WRs in the QB and RB positions and running triple options every down, or going for it on every fourth down. We are adults, right?

Sounds good to me. I am only 17 but I don't play like a fool. I don't do that cheap stuff. I am considering starting Russel Shep over Jordan Jefferson though because his speed is much better which is huge for the option. I think maybe I will only put him in certain packages. But I don't go on 4th all the time only when I'm trying to come back or its a 4th and short. And I don't put my WR's at qb and just scramble all day.

It seems like we have way too many people in the Big 12, I will volunteer myself to move to another conference if needed. I can take USC - if thats unfair - let me know. I just hate seeing too many people in one conference.

B Edwards 17 - LSU Sturtzy - ASU enimiesnevrdie - Florida Paul VBlue - Texas Tech DC Rizz - Oregon frankus22 - USC Checkmate120 - Oklahoma State IWillDocU - Oklahoma GuloGuloGulo - Oregon State 9 spots taken, 3 left. I agree with not having too many from the same conference, sorry if I messed it up Frankus, I can change from Oklahoma to something else if you want me to. Seems like we're gonna have at least 4 from one conference though since we can't do Big 10 and nobody seems to want the ACC or Big East.

It absolutely pains me to play USC... I always play Mich and will have to get used to playing a pro-style offense, plus I hate the idea of not being able rep the Wolverines. When will be able to start?

Latest breakdown... PAC10 Sturtzy - ASU GuloGuloGulo - Oregon State frankus22 - USC DC Rizz - Oregon Big 12 Paul VBlue - Texas Tech Checkmate120 - Oklahoma State IWillDocU - Oklahoma SEC B Edwards 17 - LSU enimiesnevrdie - Florida ACC GooseGosselin - GaTech skinnyrooster: Do you want to keep USC or switch to Cal? Chicago Blue: would you mind picking an SEC team to even things out? Once I hear back from these guys, I can have the dynasty up in no time and we can add a few more people if need be. Worst case, I'll start it at midnight (EST). That would mean you need to have the game and recruiting done by around midnight every Monday night (end of first week is 7/27). If you are playing a human, make sure to message them and coordinate a time to play. If someone hasn't done everything by the end of the week, I can sim through it. And if you try to restart a game, I will know.

I'm super sorry Rizzo, but I have to drop b/c my friend who wasn't sure he was going to buy the game, decided too and he wants me to join his league with his co-workers. I don't wanna do more than two b/c I'm already in one with my old umich buddies. Sorry again, I wish everyone a fun time. :D

Ok we are set. Invites will go out shortly, though we can still add a few more people if you pick one of the three conferences. I'm going to replace Mississippi State with Florida so all the SEC teams are in the West. And wow, all of the non-conference games will be tough...I'll just pull names out of a hat. If you haven't done an online dynasty before...basically it's the same as a regular one except that after each week you wait until everyone is done and it moves forward together. For example, right now everyone has to complete the pre-season options before I can move it to the first week of the season. If everyone finishes this quickly, we can go on to the real action without waiting until next week. Good luck! PAC10 Sturtzy - ASU GuloGuloGulo - Oregon State DC Rizz - Oregon Big 12 Paul VBlue - Texas Tech Checkmate120 - Oklahoma State IWillDocU - Oklahoma SEC B Edwards 17 - LSU enimiesnevrdie - Florida GooseGosselin - Alabama
