Why do you think there are in the top 5?  Do you watch a lot of other teams throughout the year?  Do you follow recruiting closely?

DPJ was ranked #1 at his position.  Nico Collins was in the top 15.  Tarik Black was top 25.

Why would you suspect that makes a top 5 WR group?  It certainly can't be the productiton on the field?  But it can't be based on their recruiting rankings, either, since there are easily 10 teams in college football that can boast 3 WRs that were all top 10.

I get the feeling that you just recognize that they're talented WRs, and they wear the uniform of the team you root for, so you make the leap to believing they're special.  They're not.  It's a very good receiving corps, but it's no better than most other teams in the top 15.  Plenty of fans get to root for a team that has three legitimately talented WRs starting.

What?  I called Harbaugh a dinosaur when he was hired, and said he wouldn't be able to compete with Ohio State.  I don't believe I have posted anythin in the intervening years that could possibly lead anyone to believe I think he's anything other than an average coach.

I literally have no clue what you're talking about.  Maybe you have me confused with someone else.

Yes, you're probably the only one, Cube.

Trevor Lawrence was the top recruit in the entire country, and one of the highest-ranked recruits of all time. He's a rare and special talent.

Both Shea and McCaffrey were highly rated, but neither of them were virtually can't-miss superstars like Lawrence.

The dude is incredible, and he showed everyone tonight. Wow.

On SportsCenter, SVP just said Mike Ferrell told him Lawrence was the best high school prospect he'd ever seen.

That's not "starz", that's recognizing a rare, special talent. Lawrence has "it".

As far as the starz debate goes, I'm agnostic. Sure they matter. Nope, they're not everything.

Dabo and Harbaugh can't possibly be any different with a microphone in front of them.

Dabo is actually somewhat charming even tho his fake religious schtick can get old. And he can't shut up LOL

If someone can stop Bama again next season, either from getting to the playoffs or beat them in it, maybe after two seasons of not winning it all their recruiting might slow down and college football can finally rid itself of Nick Saban.

In the past, teams could win with a dominating defense, playing for field position/TOP, delivering body blows, and the offense having 3-4 successful drives.

With enough talent, that game plan can still beat most teams. But against the best, you need the philosophy that your offense will score every time they touch the ball. You can’t run a scheme that requires the team to be perfect over a 13+-play drive to score a TD, where if any play knocks them off schedule, the drive just dies.

In games like this (like @OSU this year and @PSU last year), your drive stalling at midfield needs to be seen as a turnover. Idk if Harbaugh will ever be willing to change enough to have that mindset.

Case-in-point: 7 years ago, a year after Harbaugh left Stanford for the NFL, Alabama beat LSU 21-0 in the title game with 5 field goals and 1 touchdown. Now a true freshman qb is throwing for 347 with a true freshman wr going for 153. The times have changed.

I think that’s the point I was trying to express. Even just a few years ago, no game plan for a freshman in the national title game against the #1 defense would be to air it out to his freshman wr. It would be ball control and treating him like a game manager. That’s not the philosophy of championship teams anymore.
