Mywan Jackson

Rivals seems to think that Mywan Jackson (a HS QB/CB) will be commiting to Michigan soon. He's three-stars, and it seems more likely that he'll be a CB (he'll almost certainly not be a QB if he stays on offense). He has a boatload of offers - Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, Illinois, Nebraska, North Carolina, and several others.

Wow - pretty surprising that a guy with that list of offers is a 3-star. Sounds like one of those guys that starts as a 3-star and when the recruiting services notice the interest level he receives, he gets bumped up. But we're all about 3 star guys now, right?

Are we the only Big 10 school he is looking at? This is the first I've heard of him, hope more good news comes with him.

Illinois and Iowa both offered him. And WolvinLA - you know that I wasn't trying to say three-stars all blow, or that we shouldn't sign them. Just that every 3-star we sign isn't a "sleeper". Some of them are just destined to be backups.

The issue, I think, is that he hasn't played that much defense, so the services won't list a kid as a 4-star corner when, to date, he's only occassionally played there.

I wouldn't be so sure of that -- I thought I remember Ronald Johnson exclusively playing WR in high school, but was projected as a CB for college, yet every recruiting service had him as a five-star, top five national CB recruit.

This guy does seem qualititatively different than some of the other three-stars we're going after like Hawthorne or Vincent Smith, who have one other big offer. Jackson's got a lot of schools after him. Same with this Deangelo Hadley guy.

played full time CB in HS and he played a lot of WR, but he did play more on D than O. He also was awesome on special teams. He destroyed my Alma Mater in the State Championship game and then went to USC, thanks ROJOMOM.
