MSU Snowflakes - The Offense

This one should be exciting - this will be your thread for snowflakes and hot takes regarding the offense and offensive playcalling.

MSU also has the worst passing defense in the B1G and we didn't take advantage of that. I'm happy as hell we won but I'm not going to lie to myself and pretend everything on offense is fine. I love the way we are running the ball but the pass game still has a major way to go.

That doesn't explain the utter lack of imagination in the passing game. This is a problem that still needs fixing let's not let the win delude the truth.

Problem being, Wisconsin and MSU were not as good as advertised in August.  Penn St may not be either.  OSU certainly is, and if Penn St is, you are looking at 2 more losses (probably a third in a bowl game against a 9/10 win team) if they continue to give 30 minutes away on offense each week.

Very proud of the team:  ~400yards against a solid run D, on the road, rivalry game.

But Michigan will lose some games if first-half Lloyd-ball continues.  No punting on 4th and 5 from the 38.

Need to mix in the mid-passing game:  Not just screens and bombs (the latter which take 3+ seconds to set up), but quick-hitting, mid-passing game.  Some slants to Perry & Co. on 2nd and 3rd and 8-10 would be wonderful.

Got to get more points out of 400 yards of offense.  If there is one thing that bites us this year it will be missed opportunities to score.

Not to mention all of the hidden yards we got from our defense and special teams giving great field position. I am overall pleased with the way this game went and how the season is shaping up overall so far, but there will be plenty to work on in practice these next two weeks. GO BLUE!

Slow start a bit again today, but weather didn't help. Shea RPO saved our bacon a few times, and DPJ is becoming a legit deep threat on more than just a play or 2 a game. Great game because it's a W! Go Blue!!!!

Left points on the field. Game shouldn't have been in jeopardy in the third quarter when the elements came into play. Shea is passing on makeable throws to open receivers.

But then, unlike past years, Michigan made the plays. The biggest play of the year so far, the bomb to DPJ. And then a crushing, boot-to-the-throat drive against the best running defense in the country to score the third TD.

We got punched in the mouth in the third. And it didn't matter.
