MSU fans calling for boycott of Outback restaurants

First of all, Outback has made a business decision. Your school's commercials claim "Spartans Will" but all of us know that when it comes to attending bowl games "Spartans don't" as well as Wolverines do. It is my opinion, according to your school's home newspaper headline from today, that your collective priority should be making your campus more safe and comfortable for women students and visitors. Please don't pick on the Aussie steakhouse people. They had nothing to do with this decision.

Outback will surely suffer. This will make them think twice next time when Michigan and MSU are both in contention for a non-playoff, non NY Six bowl and they choose Michigan instead of Sparta! Sparty don’t take disrespect lying down!!!! #boycottoutback, #fightthepower.

At an average of $25 or so per plate they aren’t in there much. What would be problematic for MSU fans would be if the B1G had a bowl deal with Golden Corral and they disrespecked the Spartans. They can’t live without Golden Corral. Denny’s would be a serious dilemma as well.

Anytime anything upsets you it's BOYCOTT time. Usually the same people hooting and hollering about a boycott for the slightest infraction are also the ones calling everyone else snowflakes...

....boycott Spartan Stadium, but if they pooled their money they could probably at least make the local Outback look pretty close to full (with cameras panned low to hide student section tables), plus they'd have all those booster chairs to themselves!

It's too high brow of a restaurant for them anyway.

This makes perfect sense coming from Sparty.  They still call us Walmart Wolverines; however the last time I was in Walmart, I counted 15 customers with Sparty gear on to only 3 customers with Michigan gear on.  I never quite figured out why that claim.

I think Outback sucks but I'm going to go eat there just to spite Staee. This is why no matter what happens on the field they will always be little brother.

For someone who hates it when MSU threads are on the board, it is strange seeing you post this, OP.

I can’t wait until we start beating Sparty’s ass so regularly again that these threads never make it on the board.

Longhorn is way better than Outback.  But neither hold a candle to Angus Barn (for you local Raleigh Durham folks).

Theyre really upset about going to the Holiday Bowl over the Outback Bowl? Why's it make a damn difference? In reality they have a better match up. Just bitter about not getting picked before us? Good grief.

Is the holiday bowl worse than the outback bowl? Outside of the playoff and Rose, Orange, sugar and fiesta why care? I get that the bowl is a nice experience for the team but it does not matter. It’s basically an exhibition.

Outback or holiday bowl champion does not really change my view of the seasons success. If your some second rate team I guess the random bowl is a big deal. For the big time programs it really is irrelevant in my opinion

then it will all make sense.

Some MSU fans don't quite get it. They have a fine program, a good coach, and will do well. They rebounded nicely this year. But it's never quite enough. A bunch I know want to hate Michigan more than they want to win themselves it seems. Oh well. I hope they enjoy their bowl. 

 

Shouldn't they, like, boycott Tampa or its stadium* or something?  Beyond cutting a large check I don't think Outback Steakhouse's management has much to do with the bowl and its invitations.

San Diego, California blows the doors off of Tampa, Florida any day of the week. Weather is better, views and sunsets are better, better restaurants, Gas Light District, beaches, Zoo, Seaworld, USS Midway aircraft carrier and museum.
